Love it. Especially if they realign the divisions.
Not only do we get more exciting playoff games, but the race to get in will also involve more teams. Dont forget, the best round is almost always the first round - this basically extends that by a few games. In my mind it should only be a one game vs best of 3 or anything else

I'd only be in favour of it if it were single-game elimination series, otherwise I think it would be too much of a delay before getting the real thing going.

16 is the right amount. The more teams that make it, the greater the regular season gets devalued.

In all the talks/discussions about improving NHL game, I've never really heard anyone complain about the playoff format.

16 is the perfect number to me. 8 seed from each conference defending their spot against the 9 seed for the final spot in a single game elimination or best of three, is something I wouldn't object to, but it's fine as is.

That would be idiotic move. 16 is the perfect number for playoff teams. Any more teams and you need to have byes for the top teams in the 1st round.

For business it probably makes sense because of the great revenue generated by playoff games but I also question if it could water down the concept and also cause regular season games to mean less.
