NHL Season slipping away...

If it does slip away, besides formal negotiations that would enable games to take place, what change(s) do you feel need to take place for the game to get back to a healthy place among fans - diehard and casual?

I've always felt making gamecenter ice (or whatever its called) free for this half a season and next season would be a nice gesture. Putting Thank You Fans on the blueline sure as hell ain't gonna cut it this time around.
I also think the three-on-three after four-on-four in OT would be fun to watch. Lots of odd man rushes, it'd be exciting and it'd cut down on all the shootouts.

That would add something when it does take place, which is only in a small fraction of games. But what does that really add? You can polish a turd all day and it's still a turd. The NHL needs to dig way deeper than that to regain trust from fans and also repair the image of the players who look like complete fools.

completely agree. They've destroyed all the trust they rebuilt through the last seven years, and no matter what they do to improve the game they've got an incredible uphill battle ahead of them

And that is pretty much what I had in mind. There needs to be some lasting change.

Just my opinion, but I feel the quality of the game is broken. They cant even get an agreement done so I have zero hope for them improving the entertainment value. This epidemic of shot blocking makes me ill. Damn you Craig Ludwig.

Free center ice/gamecenter would be nice but i highly doubt they do that. The NHL makes so much money off of these packages for them to just offer them free. Maybe 50% off will happen but I wouldn't hold my breathe.

I don't like 3v3 I just think its impossible to attack in this situation unless you want an odd man attack going the other way. I think it should be 10min of 4v4 then shootout

I would love a free NHL package too...
I'm not sure they could do that though - I wonder if there is some clauses in their contract with NBCSports/Versus such that they couldn't.

If I have free NHL to watch on NHL Network or GameCenter, I'd probably tune into Versus (I still call it that) hockey left often - which would annoy them.
