haha I read it...figured others would answer as to me it's an easy one...take Huberdeau.
To me it really boils down to Huberdeau >> Statsny and then you have the poo-poo platter that is Phillips, Stone, and Brennan. I actually like Brennan and see him as a potential 30-35-pts Dman in his peak years in the NHL but that's a stretch in itself. The others will likely just bounce back and forth between the AHL and NHL with no real impact in the NHL. All that to say, the prospects are very underwhelming and I feel that Huberdeau has a lot more upside than Statsny so I go with Huberdeau here.

In a 4-for-1 deal, there are un-written players.
P. Stastny Z. Phillips T.J. Brennan Micheal Stone (PHX prospecT) I get : Huberdeau What are the scoring categories and league scoring system? What about rosters? Weekly/daily roster changes? What does your team look like? The team you have listed in the signature doesn't have all of the players listed in the trade, so is it another team? Gotta give the full picture! If you made the deal, what would be the consequences of giving up those extra bodies? |

I just saw that Statsny is a RW in your league? Why? Hasn't he ALWAYS played C?
Do you think Huberdeau will come in as a W?

Stastny is a better real-life player than fantasy asset. He could rebound a bit thanks to the development of some of Colorado's young forwards, but Huberdeau could become a core member of your team. It all depends if you want to go with the guy who is a solid, proven producer (Stastny) or the the uber-prospect who may or may not develop as hoped (Huberdeau). The rest of these guys are depth options who are ultimately replaceable. That being said, I'd probably do the deal.

The addition of those players to the deal should have zero impact on your decision. They're dime-a-dozen waiver wire guys. As mentioned, it comes down to Huberdeau vs Stastny and I'm taking Huberdeau every time. He's only going up. Not a chance this deal if offered a short time from now. Jump on it.

Like the others have said it comes down to Huberdeau vs. Stastny, you might not see the benfits of the deal immediately, but you're getting what should be a great fantasy player in Huberdeau while his value is probably at the lowest it will ever be.
I would take the deal as I think Huberdeau will be a great fantasy performer for your team in the future. |
