What side wins this trade?
Hi guys,
In a points only keeper, I just pulled off this deal: Who wins ? I gave: Shea Weber & Jordan Staal I got: Alex Peitrangelo & Evander Kane I think it is pretty even for both sides. I am in a rebuild so I'm happy to get the younger players (Even though the guys I traded aren't considered old)

I prefer your side, for a few small reasons.
Youth is the main one. I'm in the group that thinks the Blues will become a slighly more offensive-minded team (slightly), so AP has the room to become a bit higher of a scorer than Weber. Actually, I think AP can become quite a high-scoring blueliner (read: 55-60 consistently)...but, of course, Shea may move teams eventually. Kane, to me, has more upside than Staal. At least, I've always thought so. Again, not by a ton, but still think he's got it. So you win in three categories, to me, but they're all by very small margins. That all being said, I'm pretty sure others could easily make arguments for the other side.

Hard to evaluate this trade right away because of the situation. Nobody really knows how the move from #3 center and 2nd PP to #1 (probably) center and 1st PP will affect Staal. If he bumps up to a 75 point center, your probably win. Theoretically playing with Eric could help him put up a couple 90 point seasons over the next 5 years, and in that case you probably lose

I believe Weber and Staal are way overrated in points-only formats. They are awesome in roto and in real life though.
I think you did very well here.

In a points only league I can't imagine you losing this deal. Rather have Pietrangelo over Weber and Evander over Jordan. Solid move.
