Ovie trade

Just made a trade for Ovechkin and it has caused a huge debate on who actually won the trade. I honestly consider this to be a fairly equal trade.

I get Ovechkin and Kesler

For spezza letang and J Schultz

I'm in a keeper with all of the details listed in my signature. I'm just curious as to what the dobber community thinks of the blockbuster deal.

I'd say it's a good deal for both sides assuming the other guy has room to keep the extra keeper he's getting in this deal without having to drop anyone good from his keeper list.

My opinion on who won the trade is .... it doesn't matter.

You don't make trades so you can win them. You make trades to improve your own team. If you feel you did that then great. If the other manager did as well then it helps both sides.

If your trading partner needed help at D (and it appears that is the case) then I'd say you both came out just fine.

I think the other guy won but I'm heavily biased against Ovechkin. I just don't think he's coming back to the level was at before. Same goes for Kesler, I think his injuries were catastrophic and we won't see him at the same level again.

Just my subjective feelings.

I like it for you. Even if you lose by the standards of the rest of the league, you still made a trade that helps you.

You defense is intense, even while losing Letang and Schultz. You used a huge depth to upgrade your LW. I don't see any issue really. Letang has had just as serious an injury as Kesler so meh.

I love this for you shots/hits. Between Kesler/Ovie, you're adding nearly 100 shots and 100 hits over the other package. And you're not really losing any potential scoring. Ovie is much more likely to get back to 80 points than stay at 60 IMO.

I think its a good deal for you. Doughty/Pietrangelo/Byfuglien will lighten the loss of Letang considerably.

This is a huge deal for your team. You will barely see the effect of this trade on your D simply because you are just ridiculously stacked on defense.
