As per Bob MacKenzie, he's having surgery and it could put him out for the season.

They won't know how long will recovery will take until after surgery. I wouldn't trust the out for the season comment until the team gives an update later in the week and actually states what the injury is.

Well this sucks. Good thing for Cowen is that he has all the time in the world to recover. No need to rush anything. He'll be 100% well before this lockout is over.

Andre Benoit would make a nice sleeper add for one-year leagues once the season gets going. This gives him a real nice chance to make the club and he is a decent offensive defenseman. Other than him, Patrick Wiercioch's value for one-year leagues also improves.
