Default justin williams for shane doan

The league counts hits, so doan is gold, but he is 6 years older and looking at retirement.

Who would you rater own in a 16 team, 20 keepers with goals, assists, hits, sog, +/-, PIM, PPP, and SOG.

Doan with hits gives you a huge edge...

Also Williams is stuck a bit in the depth charts, Kops, Brown, Richards, Carter, Gagne, Penner and Stoll... plus the Kings aren't exactly a huge offensive team with a lot of offense to spread around.

Williams might get a few more points, but Doan is still one of the "go to guys" in Phoenix, and generally speaking they tend to carry less risk in terms of production than those who face a lot of competition.

Kinda to add to what Ryan is saying in pointing at Doan as the better option - Doan is much more durable, even though Williams has put in two healthy seasons, he has been cursed with the injury bug for a long time and this would be a factor for me in opting for Doan. I concur though that all else being fairly equal in stats, Doan brings the big hits numbers in such a deal.

Doan is the better option. Williams is Injury prone and I just like Doan as a alround better player then Williams. Having hits also gives Doan the edge as well.

Doan for sure.

I feel the same way the guys in the above posts feel. I trust Doan more. He's more durable and more of a focal point in his teams offense.

Doan again, and lets not forget he did just sign a 4 year extension, so looking at retirement doesn't really apply.

True, he is older, but he's in great shape for a guy that's 36 years old.

Justin Williams is the better player to own in points only leagues, but in this format, Doan is the clear choice because of all the categories he contributes in.

Good luck.
