Backlund's a goner. Even if you're competing in three years, Backlund hasn't projected as much of anything so far in his career, and at least the other can be used as trade bait midseason when a higher up team needs a boost.

If you need further convincing, Backlund is the odd man out here. Not nearly as good or as proven as the other two. Drop him.

I wasn't as confident as the others -- simply because you listed that you won't be in contention for three years. Three years from now, I think Backlund has a better chance of being worth something than Michalek (who will be past thirty and wasn't exactly lighting the world on fire prior to last year -- and he's been a band-aid boy).
Then I reminded myself that trade value has to be considered. I'd feel fine dropping Backlund, but I'd be perfectly willing to shop the other two if/when the season gets going.
