Default Landeskog vs Yakupov

Who do you take for this year and going forward? Assuming there is a year in the NHL.

Landeskog's stats impress the sh#t out of me.

Yakupov. Lando is more a multi-cat guy, Yakupov = points. The kid can pass, the kid can shoot. Lando will be huge in defensive situations and the PK. Yakupov will be fed offensive zone starts and PP time.

Agreed. For a multi cat league, this is a tough one and I'd actually go out and take Landeskog.

But for a points league, easily Yakupov.

Great comparison. I'd take Landeskog this year because his peripherals will outweigh the (possible) difference in points that Yakupov will accrue. In 2 years and thereafter, give me Yakupov.

For this season, and if it's wiped out maybe next season I'd take Lando. He's going to become maybe the most valuable multi-cat player in the league soon.

Longer-term though (2-3 years) I take Yakupov. He's just so talented his scoring is going to outweigh what Lando can do overall. And as a bonus, I think Yakupov will be 100+ hit player in the NHL.....nothing amazing but he won't be a drain in that category.

As the others have pointed out, depends on format.

But for me personally, regardless of format, hard to ignore a potential generational talent like Yak even though you will likely lose in the short-term.

How much better can Lando actually get?

does this guy have point per game potential? I always thought he would be a 60 point kinda guy. 30-30 for 60 points. I cant see his +/- getting much better, he was +20 last year. His PIMs could go up i guess, he only had 51 last season. I say this becasue if what I think is accurate then he's almost reached his peak, no???

If I'm missing something please let me know because he may be a guy that I should pay more attn to.

I go with Yak regardless, Potential is redonkulous.

If you wait to get Yak, IMO, he'll be untouchable, he may be already.
