Default Need a different Perspective

So i have the first and second overall pick in our draft this year and trying to figure out where to go with this..league is very inactive towards trades and pretty much have to build through draft ...have made a few deals that has secured me the 2 draft picks for this year.there are numerous quality players available including top end prospects . forwards available include

D brown
Vorachek
Grandlund
Ennis
Purcell
Okposo
any forward from this years draft class

defense:
Schultz
Smith
J.Faulk
Elliott
Hamilton
Voynov
Any defenseman from this years draft class

Yakupov and Schultz seem to be the no brainers here and drop Franson and Van riemsdyke .. My defense is weak and with 5 pts per goal and 3 for an assist schultz seems to be the sexy pick. had an offer for first overall pick for P.K. Subban and the 5th overall . not sure i can pass on Yakupov's upside even though most weeks i lose my matchup because of my defensemen . What do you guys think??

With those insane Dman cats I would take Schultz and Reilly (maybe Smith or Elliot, but I really like where Reilly is headed, although some will argue the Toronta factor is a bad thing). I do prefer Yakupov to Hall, is there a chance you could send Hall + to the guy with the third overall pick so secure Yak as well?

I dunno. D IS hard to predict, you may be correct with just going Yak and Schultz, but you have SO many Oilers at that point ( the ol' too many mouth to feed, and eggs in one baskets working against you)

Gotta take best available. With those cats I would go with Yak and Schultz, or Schultz and Hamilton. Skill is skill, don't shy away from players just because they are on the same team. Do you know anyone that wouldn't want Crosby, Malkin, Neal and Letang just because they all play on the same team, or Sedin, Sedin, Burrows, Edler? Skill will put their points up. Hard to pass on Granlund too, maybe him over Yak if you want some team diversity. And Keep JVR, until you know if he's gonna play with Kessel

Yakupov & Schultz.
Starting 6F/4D/1G, you've got plenty of good forwards here, otherwise I'd say go Yakupov & Granlund... but if trading is hard to do - it doesn't really help you.

Welcome to the boards!
Great work getting a SIG set-up for your first post!!!

thanks for the responses guys, So what do you guys think of trading the first overall ( yakupov ) for Subban and the 5th overall ? i can get Schultz with the second overall pick and than probably get Grandlund with the 5th ? i like Subbans pims and he should improve on his point totals . he was 10 rated D man in our league last year and that was with a down year IMO.

You know, I'd probably say yes (though I think it will be an unpopular answer).
Subban is indeed a top 10 defenseman in multi-cat... and Yakupov may take a while before he is even a top 30 forward in multi-cat.

In a pool without forwards positions, where you start only 6F... that's probably the pool where Yakupov has least value.

I do like the Subban-side here.
He is a massive improvement over Whitney/Franson... much bigger than any improvement Yakupov could provide over your 6th forward (IMO).
