Default Trying to get Lundqvist

Been in talks with the manager and he's listed some guys off of my team that he's interested in and admitted that the King could be had for the right price.

How far off am I in offering Parise/Markstrom/Nabby for Lundqvist?

He also has interest in B. Schenn...but I have a feeling he could turn into a Kesler-type player, and our league values multi-cat players. Parise and Markstrom were on that list of guys he's interested in (Nabby is just so he gets starts).

or do you think I'll be able to scrap by in the goalie stats and just wait til Markstrom is ready? If Ovie comes back to anywhere near his godly-form, plus a healthy Kesler and Zajac, and if everyone else plays roughly around the same as last year...I should dominate in the offensive cats. Lehtonen looks to be pretty solid now so I'm thinking about dropping Bachman and picking up Greiss just to ensure I snag all of the Sharks starts so I don't lose by not hitting the minimum games requirement.

Looking at your team in the sig. So you now have Lehtonen and Niemi? if that's the case. I'd stand pat as I don't think your offer of Parise/Markstrom/Nabby is enough to sway him. He'd probably want 2 active roster players.

Or you offer him one of Niemi or Lehtonen, Parise, & Markstrom for Lundqvist & another solid 70pt roster player of his. Just spitballing off the cuff, so I haven't put much time in this trade evaluation. But this would be a substantial offer.

Hope it helps and good luck!

Nope I don't have Lehtonen. If I already had Lehtonen, I would be fairly content. I was just saying that I picked up Bachman, but Lehtonen seems to be more stable (as far as injuries are concerned).

So bottom line I would have to add more. Maybe I should probably be looking at other options. After trying to pry Rinne, manager doesn't really want to give him up. Halak is too expensive for my liking. Rask and Howard got fast rejects. I doubt I can get Quick - at least last year I remember the manager clearly didn't want to let him go. Miller is off-limits. I think that leaves me with maybe Fleury or Price -- guys that I would be willing to deal Parise/Markstrom for. The more and more I try to come up with deals (without dealing Ovie, Geno or Giroux), the more I feel like I should just take my chances on what I got.

Best player wins the deal, and whomever gets Lundqvist wins.

You may have to add some more pieces, but to get Lundqvist at that price would be a steal. Not sure its enough.

I offered a GM who owns him, Markstrom, Bernier, Suter, Rundblad, Hall, 1st and supplemental pick (6th or 7th)- for Lundqvist and Zetterberg. He refused and added Eberle to my side and Klein to his. Way too much, but Henriks value has never been higher. Might be a tough one, but if he bites on your offer, feel good because you will be fleecing him.

If you can nail down that 3 for 1 trade then more power to you. Nabokov is nothing to me and Markstrom has literally proved nothing in the NHL. So it's essentially Parise for King....

Yeah. I definitely think that the price for Lundqvist might be a bit too high. Your goalie situation is by no means bad at all. You have a good offense and it would be hard to even let a Parise go. BUT it is your strength and maybe you want to throw a Parise+ offer for Fleury or Price. Both great goalies in my opinion and you do need a bit of help in this area. I would start with Parise/Nabokov for Price or Fleury. Is one of the guys deeper in their goal tending situation? Target them 1st as it's way easier for them to part with a goalie at the cheapest value. Add Markstrom only if needed. I don't think you'll be able to rely on him as a "consistent" starter for at least 2 more seasons. PLUS..... I really still believe that Luongo will go to Florida

In a 16 team league (see dobbers experts league draft) Lundqvist is worth a top 10 player (I would consider top 5) like Stamkos, OV, Giroux or Malkin.

along with Quick and maybe Rinne he is the most reliable goalie out there. Markstrom still hasn't proven himself.

I own Parise in 2 keeper leagues and don't think he would get me Henrik unless I gave a lot of other top players.

Schenn hasn't proven anything yet so trade him to get Lundqvist and you could win this year for sure

Alright so Parise/Schenn/Markstrom/Nabby might get it done for Lundqvist. If the other manager agrees, just take it?

I would have to add a couple depth guys (probably some that get a lot of blocks) and try to snag any potential prospects again that aren't protected by their respective squads (sucks that the Sharks don't have any prospects to get excited for). Coyle is one of the names that jumps out at me (probably since he's an ex-Shark...hah) and we don't have a manger playing as the Wild so he's free for a pickup - if the trade goes through is he worth the roster spot?

Dang, I've been holding onto Schenn and Markstrom ever since they were added to the Yahoo system - just waiting for them to finally do something.

1) Do the trade before they change their mind
2) Yes. Get your hands on Coyle
