Default Rebuilding, Keep 16

I took over a weaker team, am also at a bit of a disadvantage as the league has very few categories, and I tend to do much better with many categories. They are a bunch of fringe keepers for league size (roto 12 team, keep 16). They are listed in O-Rank order for this season. Skater positions don't matter as I am rebuilding and am simply interested in the best players, while goalies are valuable because they account for 2 of 7 categories.

G
A
P
+/-
PIM

Patrick Sharp (Chi - C,RW)
Bobby Ryan (Anh - LW)
Jordan Eberle (Edm - RW)
Brad Marchand (Bos - C,LW)
P.A. Parenteau (Col - RW)
Chris Kunitz (Pit - LW)
Teddy Purcell (TB - RW)
Nathan Horton (Bos - RW)
Sven Baertschi (Cgy - LW)
Ryan O'Reilly (Col - C)
Ryan Whitney (Edm - D)
Jakub Voracek (Phi - RW)
Craig Smith (Nsh - C,RW)
Erik Johnson (Col - D)
Oliver Ekman-Larsson (Pho - D)
Ryan McDonagh (NYR - D)
Dan Hamhuis (Van - D)
Kyle Quincey (Det - D)
Jamie McGinn (Col - LW)
Chris Pronger (Phi - D)
Jaden Schwartz (StL - C)

Goaltenders
W
SHO

Marc-Andre Fleury (Pit - G)
James Reimer (Tor - G)
Robin Lehner (Ott - G)

This is what I am considering:
1. Patrick Sharp (Chi - C,RW)
2. Bobby Ryan (Anh - LW)
3. Jordan Eberle (Edm - RW)
4. Brad Marchand (Bos - C,LW) - tons of value with categories
5. P.A. Parenteau (Col - RW) - new team, new linemates
6. Chris Kunitz (Pit - LW) - elite linemates
7. Teddy Purcell (TB - RW) - elite linemate
8. Nathan Horton (Bos - RW) - good line, head health?
9. Sven Baertschi (Cgy - LW) - plenty of opportunity in Calgary
10. Ryan O'Reilly (Col - C) - defensive minded? Great chemistry on line
11. Ryan Whitney (Edm - D) - ankle, bust?
12. Jakub Voracek (Phi - RW) - knee, Giroux
13. Craig Smith (Nsh - C,RW) - can likely redraft
14. Erik Johnson (Col - D) - bust?
15. Oliver Ekman-Larsson (Pho - D) - stud
16. Jaden Schwartz (StL - C) - think he's worth it, can likely redraft
17. Marc-Andre Fleury (Pit - G) - have faith
18. James Reimer (Tor - G) - will he return to world championship form?
19. Robin Lehner (Ott - G) - believer

Basically have to take 3 off that list. Not really sure which players are less or more deserving for a roster spot. Thoughts? No hope in hell? I know

Cheers!

What's your goalie availability like?

I'd be tempted to drop Reimer/Lehner, Smith, and Kunitz from your list, though if goalies are in short supply, Reimer might be a must keep.

I drop Lehner (depth goalie should be redraftable or comparable), Smith: no peripherals to increase his value and Schwartz if you are sure you can redraft him or a like calibre player.

I agree with your keeper assessment here, although any chance you can trade guys like Horton and Kunitz for younger guys who can develop with your team? Even if for picks, allows you to keep Schwartz and keep moving into the rebuild. These guys won't be there by the time your team is ready to compete.

Unfortunately, goalies are in very short supply. Even so, I am still considering not keeping Reimer. Kunitz is an interesting choice, but I see where you are coming from.

I'd drop schwartz, smith and lehner or E Johnson. All will probably be redraftable and probably pretty late at that. I don't see Schwartz being significantly fantasy relevant for another 2-3 years with that league size.

I may be by myself on this one, but I consider Lehner a top goalie prospect, just behind Markstrom, who will be kept by another team. Schwartz should be redraftable, but I would rather trade Kunitz instead. Don't think Horton has any trade value at the moment. He would need half a healthy season played before he would have any.

Edit: trading isn't really an option.

Well given the young makeup of your team, in a 12 team league, I don't see Kunitz being too much of a contributor by the time you're ready to compete.

I'm also big on Lehner - like him over Reimer unless you need goalies now.
