Default How bad was my draft?

What a brutal dispersal draft. This was one of the most challenging I've participated in. My draft strategies went out the window very quickly, as all of my 1st round potentials were gone by my pick (Lucic, Doughty, Subban, Smith, Kipper). I wanted to go with guys who had solid peripherals in order to have a relatively balanced draft, but they all went before I could snag anyone I liked. This was one of those drafts where nothing seemed to go right, and I was extremely flustered for most of it. Guys I was about to pull the trigger on were taken the pick before mine - consistently! I normally don't pick guys I dislike, but this time I was forced to on numerous occasions. I'm dreading the coming season in this league. How bad did I really do? Give me some hope, please!

You seemed to have done pretty well.. Why did you pick Neuvirth and Bernier?? Just curious as both those guys will more then likely be back-ups next season..
I absolutely love the d-men you picked up..

All of the decent starting G were gone pretty quickly. I figured, roll the dice on 2 backups who have decent potential (Neuvirth can still win the #1 job, Bernier should be traded and become a starter). I hated taking Markov and Visnovsky. They have good offensive upside, but both have serious drawbacks (Markov - injuries, Visnovsky - attitude with a team he doesn't want to be on). Just not happy with the end results.

Lol, when I disconnected it was because I signed off to have dessert with my girlfriend's family and one of my buddies who had never done a hits/blocks/FOW league took over. Needless to say my team sucks. Oh well. Locked up my goalies early which was the only important thing I wanted

Not as bad as you think IMO. Strong at C, good at wings, although they do "peter out" a little towards the end. Good D, who should fill your CATS well, especially blocks, hits, SOG. Not a huge fan of the goalies, as i'm neither a fan of the Flower or Luo. Neuvy was worth a grab but Bernier is loaded with question marks..until he finds a new home that is.
You should be competitive, middle of the pack with a chance of improving..best of luck MHTK.

I looked it over earlier and had typed a reply and lost it.
I thought it was a pretty good draft... not bad at all.

It sounds like most think you did much better than you thought, and I tend to agree (loving rounds 10-14 in particular - very good picks there).

Another thing to keep in mind is that just because you maybe thought you didn't do well or that you missed out on players you wanted doesn't mean that the other GMs realize this. Who knows - maybe you took guys that other GMs had wanted? You could always put out soft feelers for trades, although most are hesitant to pull the trigger right after the draft. If that doesn't work, then wait for hot streaks to occur for the guys you have but don't really want and then try to flip them while they will get you maximum value in return.
