This shouldn't be much surprise to anyone given how close we are to the start of the season and the lack of agreement on anything financial, let alone an entire CBA.

This is nothing. I really think the entire season plus some of next season will be gone.
I also imagine the league will permanantly lose players to other leagues over this. Dobberhockey really should be shifting gears towards the KHL and other leagues because this is going to be a long haul.

Its the potential 3rd lockout under bettman as commisioner of nhl. Its how he negotiates , he uses lockouts as leverage to get what he wants. He will keep doing it as long as he is commissioner. Owners wont vote him out either because he works FOR them. Blame owners.
Its funny because bettman used last lockout to get players to cave into the cba we just had. And it wasnt good enough. Its like a kid begging his mom to get a new video game, so kid stomps his feet for a while until he gets that 50 bucks to go buy the new game, only to have a new one come out and the old one is out of date so the kid stomps his feet for another 50 bucks to get the newer game. Bettman is the kid, he wants the new game, old one is "outdated" but its what he wanted and he has to realize the players wont cave this time. There will be a lockout for the whole year, unless Bettman realistically changes his and the owners view on a cba. Players are standing tall and fighting for the right reasons. Bettman wants players to give everything. NHLPA isnt going to get pushed around by NHL this time. And NHL definetly doesnt want to get pushed over by NHLPA. Its ridiculous. Players were willing to play under the old cba. NHL is so stubborn in making more money for themselves. The cap was increased by the cba that bettman wanted, and now he doesnt like how high his cap is. The nhl allowed players to sign. Long term deals worth 100's of millions. Hell, owners allowed for those players to be signed, now they want to rollback sallaries because they chose to pay too much? The list of players signing over seas is growing each day. Theres no rush to get a deal going for players, they arent going to screw themselves over by caving to NHL this quick. This whole thing about replacement players is stupid. Hell, why not get replacement owners??? The players should form their own teams and play in local rinks everywhere, sell them out, get tv stations to broadcast the games (who wouldnt?) imagine little 3v3 tourneys? Thats my rant for the day. On to something else....

Everybody around the NHL sucks !!!! All for different reasons that i'm not good enought in english to write long text
The Players for few reasons The Owners for fews reasons Gary Bettman for a lot of reasons etc.... A mediator HAVE to be the solution and fast. That really sucks p.s. boy I will be so happy when i open my nhl.com page and see nhl and nhlpa have agree to a CBA....... and then everybody will come back good nice person !!  .................................................. .................................................. ...................................

As soon as I win my keeper league, and make trades for aging veterans the owners' screw up my plans for dynasty. I am basically already eliminated from my fantasy football league, I'm not doing as well on LSAT practice as I'd hoped, I'm struggling through writers block while writing a 30+ page dissertation on 14th amendment (substantive due process / equal protection), and no NHL season to top it all off.
Dobberhockey might cover the KHL more extensively. So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.
