[Cage Match Tournament] #4 Niemi vs. #5 Anderson
Is it Week Three in the Cage Match Tournament already? I suppose it is. Not that time is really flying all that much with the current lockout still raging harder than a fear boner. And if you didn't get that reference I just can't imagine what you've been doing with your life. But alas, Week Three it is and we have the opening round match ups in the Sawchuk Bracket.
Please vote and make your voices heard. And remember the scoring categories are Wins, GAA, Save% and Shutouts. Also, please check the article on the home page for last week's results! I would never trade Anderson for Niemi. Hell, I don't think Niemi makes it till the end of the next NHL season as a starter - Greiss will pass him.

I find it interesting that so many people would take Anderson over Niemi in a one-year league. I'm not really that much of a fan of Niemi's in general, but San Jose to me is a better team than Ottawa is.

Good goalies make a so-so D look good. Bad goalies make a so-so D look bad. If your league counts only wins, niemi wins going away because he is gets so many starts. If you factor in any metric that actually measures how good a goalie actually is such as Sv% or GAA, this one is EASILY Anderson. And this is definitely not the closest matchup this week has to offer.
