Default Who's going to be first buyout?

Think Brad Richards will be first buyout, next choice would be Vinny Lecavalier.
At least the old Lightning buddies cashed in.

Lecavalier can't be bought out (at least not a compliance buyout). Nobody signed after the CBA can be.
The Canucks should buy out Booth before he hurts himself again.

Vinny can't be amnestied, only regular buyout since his contract was signed after the lockout ended.

Havlat and Leino both will be bought out. Havlat would have been bought out last year had he not been weirdly injured even though he finished the season healthy.

I could see Booth surviving getting amnestied. Free agent crop is less than ideal and generally wont fill any needs the Canucks are looking for, might as well see if Booth has anything to give for another year. They could use that last amnesty to buy a draft pick instead.

If he is I wonder where Richards will end up as he will get another deal... Leino and Havlat on the other hand...

Havlat could end up a bargain if he signs a one year somewhere for <2M.
Maybe he goes back to Ottawa.
Dallas could use some depth too.

He should have never been signed to what he got. Richards at least was historically a great player. Has to be Leino first!

Well there is no question that Leino and Havlat will be bought out, in what order, meh - we know it's happening.

The Richards and Richards possible buyouts are interesting debates - they both provided value to their teams during this year's playoff run, but long term both have lengthy contracts that will hurt in the future. Would say B-Rich is 80% chance although the St. Louis signing probably keeps him around, while M-Rich is 50/50 chance of a buyout because of the Carter friendship factor.

They would get value in a trade, so better of moving him that way - but yeah he was tragic in the playoffs.
