Something about the league's commish picking first ... kidding of course!
10 Solid community members - I'll be excited to see how this draft unwinds.
When do you start drafting?
I'd like to begin by thanking GMGates for sponsoring the All-Star Keeper League here on the Dobber forums. Not only will our league gain exposure but forum members can hopefully find our league useful and entertaining.
I was flirting with the idea of forming a league with some of Dobber's best and have an "all star" cast. The idea turned into reality very quickly. I was ecstatic at the members that showed interest. We have some of the forum's most active members along with a couple article writers and Dobber beat writers. Here is the list of the GM's and their team names:
Big Ev (Silver Seven)
Bomm Bastic (Crease Crashers)
Dr. Gregg (Louisville Laughers)
drury2396 (Velvet Morning)
Gotlaid (Maaasquito Bites)
playmaker26 (Jersey 18's)
Renegade (Renegades)
Seadawg (Seadawgs)
Shakedown (Shakedown Smackdown)
wendelclark17 (Wendel's Warriors)
Here are some league details:
10 teams
Full Keeper (Dynasty)
Points Based (Yearly)
Starting Lineup: 12 forwards, 6 defenseman, 2 goalies
Bench: Resets at 8 every offseason
Prospects: Unlimited but prospect skaters lose eligibility after 4 seasons. 5 seasons for goalies.
Scoring: Goal (1), Assist (1), PIM (0.1), Shot (0.05), SOG (1), +/- (+0.2, -0.2)
Goalies: Win (2), Shutout (3), PIM (0.1), Goal (10), Assist (2)
Roster moves: Sent to Commish. Benching a healthy roster player makes him ineligible for 3 weeks.
The Inaugural Draft order was done by a random order generator. Here are the results:
1. Jersey 18's
2. Renegades
3. Seadawgs
4. TBA (Gotlaid)
5. Wendel's Warriors
6. Velvet Morning
7. Louisville Laughers
8. Silver Seven
9. Shakedown Smackdown
10. Crease Crashers
I invite everyone to keep up with the league's progress. Feel free to chime in with any opinions of trades, draft picks, etc. We are all active members on the forum so having this added wrinkle to the league is another way to make this league unique for us.
I will be posting draft results periodically. Finally, here is a link to our league if you want to check it out: http://askl11.proboards.com/index.cgi

Can't believe Green went after Weber, Yandle, and Letang...
I was going to take Letang if you hadn't. I was so pissed you took him haha. I knew Seadawg would take Green from how he has liked him in previous leagues.
Staal, Kopitar, Kane went a few picks ahead of me in Round 2. Then Letang went in Round 4. Lots of frustration haha.
Playmaker... how did you get 1st pick overall?? Random.org sans your name?!?!? lol

Crazy what people's perceptions are. Green fell to me at 31 or whatever in the UHL too and probably would have fell further if I didn't take him.
Malkin, Parise, Crosby, Getzlaf and others all have bad/injury-plagued seasons (for the second straight season in the case of Malkin and to a lesser extent, Getzlaf) and their draft position remains unchanged. Green has one bad season after 3 elite seasons and he falls 30+ spots down peoples draft lists. Insanity.
