if i owned Mac he would be virtually untouchable, which means that i would have to completely and totally destroy the other guy in the trade in order to make it

i certainly wouldn't be trading the guy for what would be an incremental upgrade for a single season

Except we are advising OP, who does have Rask, and I strongly believe he should not have him in a deal... We have other posters suggesting Stamkos/Pavelski/1st for MacKinnon..

And OP has the players to over pay, but he could overpay without Rask. He has probably 7-9 good keepers in a keep-6

I personally wouldn’t accept Paves rethinking this. But a player that gets 70pts, FW, +/-, PPP and so on. That level of stats, I just can’t think of someone who is similar to Paves. Maybe like Seguin, or Benn, or Kopitar, or Kessel? Someone who’s a lock for 70 points. So in return for Mac (70pts next yr), I’d get Stamkos (90), Seguin (80) and a 1st round (would likely be high too, the guy’s going to be giving his team up). Ya, I’d take 170 pts plus a star goalie in a draft over 70, 80, 90, 100 pts from 1 player.

Hey if you could get that for Mac, all the power to you.

But I don't know who would give that up, unless MacKinnon's mother is in your fantasy league.

i understand that we are advising the OP and i am advising by telling him what my expectations would be if i were the one who he was trying to pry Mac from

Appreciate all the feedback & comments. I will see what happens next season. Not about to gut my keepers for MacK. Sid would be a different story. Rask isn't going anywhere.
Picking my 6 keepers will be a tough task as it is. cheers

I like MacKinnon a lot, and I think he's got great potential, but in a keep 6 where goalie stats makeup 36% of the mix would i be dealing Rask? No ****ing way, that would be foolish indeed. Actually comparing G to F it's even more pronounced since forwards can't score DEF-PTS, so its 40%

I'd be valuing MacKinnon like I would Tavares for the most part (very different play styles but the end product from a fantasy point of view is close). Basically bank on ppg but with the upside there to hit 100. I can't believe he's only 18! Would he be interested in Hall or Seguin or some combination thereof? You have too many keepers right now so if you can't keep em you should be dealing them
