Default Just how good will Drouin be in the NHL?

I will likely have a top 5 draft pick.

I want to know your thoughts on Drouin. Most of you would likely agree that he is a top 3 pick.

What are your point predictions for him in his first 4-5 years?
What do you think his ceiling is?
What current NHL'er do you think he'll most likely play like?
Playing at LW now, will he keep that position in the NHL?
Does he play another year in the Q?

His point totals over his career in the Q are somewhat comparable to Giroux's.

Hard to say perhaps until he is drafted in the NHL.

But let's try to have some fun with this. Food for thought.

    thnx,

What are your point predictions for him in his first 4-5 years?

Depends where he ends up, but I could see him break in with 50, and slide into the point a game mark by year 5.

What do you think his ceiling is?
95 points. I think he's got incredible skills, and hockey sense. He's got kovalev hands.

What current NHL'er do you think he'll most likely play like?

Read somewhere that he could be compared to Pavel Datsyuk, I like the Kovalev comparison.

Playing at LW now, will he keep that position in the NHL?
Depends again, where he ends up. His size might also dictate if he plays as a C or winger.

Does he play another year in the Q?
    I think he does.

Impossible to answer without knowing who drafts him but to address potential and ceiling, I think Patrick Kane is a good comparison, including style.

Another year in the Q? I'd say no.

Completely agree with the Kane comp, I've been using him as my best comp as well.

Droin has the skills to challenge the holy grail of 100+ points.....just as Kane does

As far as another year in the Q.....it will completely depend on who drafts him but my gut says he'll get his 9 game look and go back down. He certainly has nothing to learn in the Q but I think he could use the physical development and if I'm a bottom dwelling team drafting him with a top 4 pick then I do not want to do anything that could compromise my prized asset.

I'm not going to make point projections...to early at this point.

Love Drouin. Curious to see where he ends up and what talent he gets to play with. First glance I would say 75-80 point talent, possibly more.

In all fantasy leagues, Mackinnon and Drouin will probably be the first two players drafted. Nothing wrong with getting younger versions of Toews and Kane.

I see Tallon drafting Seth Jones if he can. Drouin would be pretty sick with Huberdeau though.
