Shaw would be an ideal 3rd line wing with Hayes/Morin or Smith on the other side. And where does Pirri go? Things are much clearer if Pirri conclusively wins the #2 center spot and Saad stays at wing.
I really like the sound of a Shaw-Kruger-Morin line.

We know this. I was posting his stats. We all know his goalie coach left for Montreal. A while back in the off season. Old news.

Gotcha- I knew I wasn't breaking news. I leave that to the board stalwarts. Just hope that the relationship between Crawford and Weeks is as effective as it was with Waite.

Another day, another Hawks contract extension.

I personally figured he'd be done for cap reasons after this coming season once they re-signed Crawford. I was wrong .

The Hawks cap number in 2014-15 is around $66.5M. Hawks still have to re-sign Toews and Kane. Will be interesting to see what the NHL cap looks like.

Their new contracts won't kick in until 15/16, though.

    Some snippets from presser:

Bowman: "It's an easy decision to commit to him, because he's a warrior."

GM Stan Bowman on Niklas Hjalmarsson: "He’s a warrior. He’s a heart-and-soul guy."

Hjalmarsson: "I love the city, I love the people in Chicago, they're really friendly."

Hjalmarsson: " Playing in the United Center in front of 23,000 every game, it's really inspiring."

Hjalmarsson: "Maybe I could have gotten more somewhere else, but I make a lot of money, so I don't have to think about that too much."

Niklas Hjalmarsson: "To imagine playing for a different team is tough for me because I feel so much for the city and the team."

Stan Bowman indicates money will be no object in re-signing Toews and Kane and that they will " be here forever". http://voices.suntimes.com/sports/in...-here-forever/

    Sounds good to me!
Assuming they get 8M each, that leaves 9M to sign 12 players for 2015/16 - If the cap goes up 8M total over the Next 2 years - assuming Saad and Leddy get nice raises can we sign those 2 and 10 more for 17M?
