Wow.... Not sure I would have gone there but Jets doctors probably know a heck of a lot more than I do..

And he is a strong dude....

Man, it's a lot - paying for potential again. I was thinking more like $4m a year on a slightly shorter deal. But que sera sera.

Jets still need a centre - how ready is Scheiffle I wonder?

He's as ready as a prospect can be not including the overnight superstars.

Not at all surprised by this deal. Both sides (Zach and the Jets franchise) are thrilled with each other. Chevy wants to build the defense around Bogosian (and Trouba).

I was guessing somewhere around $5M and 6 years. This is great as far as I'm concerned.

lol 3 straight seasons injured and a career year of 30 pts...

that is way too much money for a guy playing behind Enstrom and Big Buff

    + Trouba is coming...

    wow !! we'll see....

The $5.14m cap hit puts him just behind Enstrom ($5.75m) and Buff ($5.2m)... which is where I thought he'd be.

About time I got a salary prediction right! LOL

Solid deal. OEL got more money and his deal only bought 2 UFA years. Bogosian's deal covers 5 UFA years and they still got him less than OEL gets. OEL is currently better D-man but that's a big difference in UFA years so this is very solid value for Jets.

Nice. I think we look at all three deals the Jets just signed with the cap progressivley going up and see three steals in a couple years.

I was expecting a shorter deal closer to 4 but this isn't a bad deal just a bit more than I was thinking.

I'm interested to see the salary breakdown by year.... I budgeted roughly 4 for him in my league, if he's at 5 I'll have to figure something out.

I will tell you; He turned into a BEAST on my EA NHL 13 Dynasty team! He has won the Norris trophy like 3 years in a row for me! Of course, I think I am in the middle of the 2019-2020 season right now.

It has potential to be a steal with the Cap going up, but Bogosian has to live up to his potential for the contract to be a steal. Bogosian has yet to live up anywhere close to the potential I once saw when he was a rookie.

I think he's a solid player, but when you get a contract like this you better be scoring more than 5 goals a season... and playing shutdown defense. Bogosian isn't a shut down threat yet. Can he be? Sure. He has to stick to his game every night though. Sometimes he'll be a crease clearing machine, and then sometimes he'll be a Ron Hainsey.

Jets fans love him no matter what, but I'm not sure people outside of Winnipeg hold him as a special player. Probably because he isn't. Not yet. I think Bogosian can be the best defenseman on this team right now (not counting Trouba if he makes it). Bogosian is definitely better than Byfuglien, but Enstrom has an edge over him.

I do like that Chevy is building defense up. Bogosian long-term, Trouba and Morrissey coming in. I wouldn't be surprised if he drafted another defenseman next year. Sooner or later though, this team is going to have to work through free agency.
