I don't know if EKane's owners should be worried about this news...

I'm certainly disappointed that with his speed he couldn't manage more than 1 goal on a big surface. But at the same time factors like adapting to a completely different country have to be considered. We'll have to see how he reacts once there is a season, if ever!
    Points-only keeper league. 12 teams. Keep any 12 players. Dress 12F - 6D - 2G.

I personally don't put much stock in any of these reports personally.. It's not the NHL and as the article itself states Tim Stapleton is destroying over there. Nuff said as far as I'm concerned. It's definitely not pleasing news but take it with a grain of salt.

I know I'm buying low on Tim Stapleton.

I didn't read the article but from what I've read on Evander Kane, he has a little bit of an attitude so it could also be a factor.

Looking at the Minsk stats... I realize Stapleton is getting it done... but a solid player like Joe Pavelski doesn't have much to show either. 0G,1A in 7 games. We all now Pavelski is solid too. I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves next.

E.Kane was getting just 13min/game there.
    Pavelski is getting just 16min/game.

Kane was wearing 98, Pavelski 88... maybe they were bitten by the curse of the high-number. (A big no-no)

    If only Kane wore #99...

I also remember that on his arrival they coaching staff criticized his conditioning and said he was "out of shape"/kadri-esque.

Yeah definitely warning signs... Even with the NHL, him and his agent were refusing to sign a contract and there were numerous reports that he wanted out of Winnipeg as he was taking a real "playboy/schoolboy" (what is the right term?) attitude...

I dunno I'm cautious about him, I'm scared that it'll filter into his game and affect his fantasy totals.

I am sort of the same mindset here. See to many negative type of distractions from him. Sure, he needs to mature a little more, he is young but some warning signs / red flags are there.

I wouldn't worry about Evander. A lot of North Americans just don't adjust well to playing in the KHL, similarly to europeans showing difficulty adjusting to playing over here.

Vincent Lecavalier, at 24 years old during the last lockout, went and played in russia too. He didn't exactly light it up, with only 7 goals and 15 pts in 30 games. Pretty good article I pulled up from 2005 that talks about some of the challenges a North American might experience in russia.

To Evander owners, don't let this affect his value. I got to watch him up close and personal countless times when he was a Thrasher...and he pushed through to another level last season. He'll be more than fine, trust me. Keep him around, no reason to be alarmed.
