ummm, yeah right, the only way that's ever coming close to happening is if he changes his name to Karlsson and moves to Ottawa
Or changes it to Subban and moves to Montreal

Good call...the chances of him hitting that lofty an upside are about as good as him becoming a black man

Goligoski probably has a better chance at growing a full head of hair than he does at fulfilling his own mediocre potential

No doubt these two are playing like garbage this year but they aren't exactly receiving much in the way of luck this year. Unsurprisingly, Gonchar and Goligoski rank dead last on the Stars in terms of on-ice shooting percentage (5o5). In fact, Goligoski hasn't been on the ice for a single 5o5 goal by the Stars yet this year. That's a reflection of their brutal play but also a reflection of bad luck. Both of these things can turn around. We are only eight games in. I'm still expecting 30 points from Gonchar and 40 from Goligoski.

I still can't believe they traded Neal for Goligoski. . .
We get one of these - Don't waste it.

Pittsburgh had Letang at the time, Goligoski was expendable!

Dallas had .... Neal and Niskanen, who should not be included in the same sentence as the word expendable.

Luckily this only applies to fantasy hockey

Goligoski blanked the first 10 games of last season and then got his points. He's still fantasy worthy, unless you have a +/- category. (whoops!)

He's still young, the fact that everyone is still bitching about him speaks volumes as well. If the greater fantasy population discusses a particular player then said player still holds fantasy relevance.

Just don't try to trade him until February

    cheers

Thanks for the wake up call!

I could have sworn there was a 10 game stretch recently to start a season where he didn't score a point.

Must have been one of my crazy fantasy hockey illusions.

Can I redeem myself by saying that he is a "slow starter"!

    cheers

So what'd'you guys think in terms of cutting bait for a one year points only on Goligoski? I always love the criticism of panicky owners just as much as I love the panicky owners. Are things gonna turn around for him or is it time to give up yet? At what point do you throw in the towel on a guy who isn't meeting expectations to this degree? Saw Metaldude thinks he's gonna come around. What do others feel?

(I'd probably drop him for Giordano who's still out there -- missed out on Garrison due to all that 'early panic' talk.. The bigger problem being I only have 4 moves all year -- (not to hijack))
F: McDavid, Kucherov, Eichel, Gaudreau, M Tkachuk, E Lindholm, Rob Thomas, Hischier

    MUST HAVE -- 8F, 4D, 2G --- (******Can only swap at same position, F, D, G ********)
10 ACQUISITIONS TOTAL ON THE YEAR (**I've used NINE of them - ONE LEFT**) *** NO BENCH - NO IR - NO TRADES BETWEEN MEMBERS ***

I thought so too. I checked a few days ago. What we do remember is that he started off slowish and ended with a bang. Hopefully he pulls off something similar this season.

Wait, way too early to decide yet.

See above, you need to keep a hold of those moves. They can be your saving grace.

Several years ago in my keeper league (which also has limited moves) a shrewd GM picked up Mike Green at the end of the season. For those of you that have "soured" on him it was right before his two consecutive 70+ seasons!

Not saying Goli is in that caliber but every one of those 4 moves should be!

If you had more moves I'd say yes. But with so few moves I would wait and see how Goligoski does and if any better defensemen pop up on the waiver wire.

Goli has talent. Id hold onto him as well. However Id still get Giordano but not by dropping Golo. I got Goli yesterday for Gardiner from another GM. I think Goli comes around and Im glad to have him.

Start 6 guys every week. 3 O, 2 D and 1G. No substitutions once they are in (before the first game starts on Monday).
Protect 3 players every year in keeper.

I feel like I'm at an AA meeting for people who like to trade too soon.

Well -- I guess Goli lives another day for my squad. I'll take the wisdom. Cheers.
