    Default Jake Allen

    Nice shutout.

Seems to be getting comfortable with the system and playing behind those players. Stats have improved as he gets more starts.

Officially taking over the starter's position? Or is he only there till he messes up and Halak will get back the job?

I think Halak will play Saturday. I have flashes of last year with Elliot taking over Halak's job.

I think it will end up being pretty much a 50-50

This isn't his year. Hitchcock will ride the hot hand but I can't see Allen staying up the rest of the season. As an organization they'd be better off with Halak & Elliott up on the big team and Allen starting every day in the AHL.

That being said, Halak has to get his head out of his ass first.

i think as long as allen doesnt shit the bed he will be the man

this team cant keep going with this hot hand shit they need to know who their goalie is going into the playoffs

elliott is done i thought there was a chance he might have turned into something i was way off on that one

halak just cant stay healthy and for some reason just isnt that good this season

allen is playing well and the fact that he is playing well when the other two sucked points to the problem being them not the team

halak will get some starts because allen cant play every game but i think if he continues to play well the job is his

Allen is 22. Imagine how good this kid could be 5 years from now.

I wouldn't get too excited... he'll have one or two bad games and fade into obscurity.

I agree, if we could learn anything from last season, StL will ride the hot hand. Halak seems to always end up being the guy so right now its Allen's job until he falls apart. Then it's Halak's again

Yeah, I think people are giving Allen too much credit and Halak not enough. Halak has been much better for much, much longer. Allen might be a great goaltender but Halak already is. I would tread lightly with Allen and take every game he plays well as a bonus.

St.Louis will not go with Jake Allen into the playoffs.

They need Halak to step up his game and will give him opportunities to prove it. Time is running out...but I expect him to be the guy within the next week or two.

Thanks for curbing my enthusiasm on this kid...esp after last nights Donut.

Nearly did something I would have regretted.

( I SO WANT TO DO THAT!...the minute I do...he'll put up Vezina Numbers)

I'm eager to spend my final waiver pick...but I know the "RATIONAL" thing would be to hold it to see how the deadline shakes out.

But it's getting hard to ignore guys like Allen or Lehner or Muzzin...and I'd hate to miss a good thing.

But really, I'm hanging on to 2nd and really there's no one out there right now who would be a substantial upgrade over who I have...worth burning my final waiver pick.

I don't understand the talk about him as if he's some one-hit wonder. Isn't this the same kid that's been a highly-touted prospect at the goalie position? It's not like he just came out of nowhere. This kid has always been talented.

I don't think he's going to usurp Halak for the starting gig right now, but at the same time I think he's shown that he can be a #1 netminder in the NHL. Whether it be for St. Louis or some other team, who knows. I like what I've seen from him.
