Default Drop Dougie Hamilton for Patrick Wiercioch?

Not sure if its a good move or not. Neither will be a keeper

Dougie has been ice cold these days and Wiercioch is obviously playing well. Roughly the same points but trading hits for pim and upgrading on pp points

Is it a good move or is it a wash and Dougie will pick back up a bit?

If it is for this year only then I like Wiercioch. Playing great since Karlsson went down and I see it continuing

Weircioch has really only produced offensively the last couple of weeks. Will he keep it up? Unlikely, given the usual inconsistency issues that are common with rookies. Hamilton has been cold lately but he had a better start than Wiercioch. I like Hamilton here, to tell you the truth, both for the rest of this year, and especially beyond. If you cannot keep either, I think Hamilton will have the higher trade value.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

If you aren't keeping either, then I would make the switch and grab the Senator in this case for the rest of the season..

As a Bruins fan, how's Dougie been playing lately? I've only seen highlights of B's games and obviously stats. Does he look like crap out there or just a rookie being a rookie? His minutes are down too it seems

Ditto! DH long term yes, but i'd ride the hotter player now. PW for me. He's been very assertive out there from what i've watched so far. Loves to shoot and jump in the rush. Looks like Hamilton from 5 weeks ago.
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.

These two don't have that much different upside down the road. Only difference is hype.

Upside, not what they will actually do. But both have pretty much the same tools IMO. Both tall guys who need to put on more weight. Hamilton has the edge in mobility. Other than that I have seen them both this year and there is not much separating them. I've always claimed Hamilton's upside is overrated. I think both are 40 pt d-men down the road.

    Both should be assist heavy.

I'm not saying choose PW over DH long-term.

I read them all Big Ev.. I know Hamilton will be more then a "40 point guy".. But again, that is just my opinion. I love what Wiercioch is doing with Karlsson out..

That's fine. I just don't see either guy as being top offensive defensemen. Both remind of of Bouwmeester but Wiercioch not as strong a skater.

If you're basing it more on the hear and now....Weicioch's minutes are way up the past 3 weeks and Hamilton's are trending downward. In a 1 year, I'll trade the PIMS and go for points. Wiercioch plays almost 90% of Ottawa's PP with Gonchar and I actually think he'll end up producing quite a few goals as well with that bomb of a shot.

I'm very biased though as I coached and taught the kid for 3 years here in BC. You may also note he's on my own team. Go Patty!
