    Default Tlusty expectations

I didn't see a thread for this, so sorry if it is a repeat.

I recently traded for him in my league (pretty cheap for his production this year) so I am wondering how people think he will do next year.

I know his sh% was ridiculously high, but the line he is on has good chemistry and with Semin and E.Staal he should get points by accident (like Horcoff haha). Not to mention he did get PP1 time and Muller seems to trust him out there, so what are the opinions on him?

I know Dobber is high on him but I think this year was his career year. I'm not saying he's a mirage and still a scrub - I think he has a place on an actual NHL team which you woudln't have been able to say a year ago - what I am saying he probably is a 40-50 point player masquerading as a 70 point player this year.

I agree. I see him as a 55 point guy though. His production is dependant on who his linemates are as well.

I'm pretty high on him, people seem to forget he was the 13th overall pick in 2006. It took him a while to figure things out but he is defintely for real. He has good size and knows how to score. All that being said though I don't see him as a 70 point player, at least consistently. He shouldn't have any problems getting 60-65 though. Sneaky upside as well.. Tlusty only had 8 PPP's last year, that number can easily grow which should help off-set some of the goal scoring regression (he isn't a 40 goal scorer).

I read an interview in which Muller talked about how important JT is to the top line (referred to him as the "glue"), so it looks like he has cemented that role.

Top line and top PP should be enough for JT to deliver 60+ points as he enters his prime.

I see a regression in goals but think he will continue to emerge

65-70 assuming he keeps playing top line. Good chemistry, so shouldn't be an issue.

Tlusty was one of my sleeper picks for last season and he worked out great, I still think the guy can become a solid contributor. As far as evaluation I put my safe bet on 25g 35a 60-65pts with a good possibility of more.

I'd say 55-65 points, I really liked Tlustly when he was a Leaf prospect.. wish he was still around

This is exactly where I peg him. 25G, 60 pts. Legit talent. Pedigree. Opportunity. =PTS more often than not.

He's legit in the top 6 now I think.

Here's a nice write up on Tlusty. That top line looks to be set in stone. 25-35 goals and 55-65 points is my prediction for next year and beyond.

Cool. Go coach Muller. I think Tlusty may be moving up in my books after all. And here Dobber was telling us this kid could play when he was bouncing around the AHL... All you need is a chance and some effort and he got both. I hope he plays to expectations next year.

I shipped him for Dany Heatley and am so glad I did. Talk about going in opposite directions.

JT also has the added incentive to continue to prove that he is legit. Still some doubters, which is great - hes got both confidence and something to prove, not to mention a home run contract on the horizon if he continues to produce.

    Bit of a perfect storm

Unless Semin has somehow become a consistent hockey player, instead of showing up for contract years to collect his paycheck, you will NOT see that kind of production from Tlusty again. I'd bet on a max of 50 points if he stays with Staal & Semin. I also would bet on a max of 50 points for Semin.
