    Cool Kopitar or Duchene?

Hey guys, one of the gms in my league offered me Kopitar for H Sedin. I'm definitely interested but was wondering if I should ask for Duchene instead.
So, my question is who would you rather have between kopitar or Duchene, considering the league details in my signature?

Thanks for your help as always.

Duchene has a higher points ceiling. I'd go for him.

I don't follow non-scoring categories very closely, but I'd definitely prefer Kopitar or Duchene over H Sedin. I see all three putting up similar points this year, but Sedin is going to starting slowing down soon; not so much for Kopitar or Duchene.

You'd basically be trading similar point total guys now, but gaining a ton more youth.

I just don't see H Sedin holding up his trade value for too much longer. I'd get the max return on him ASAP.

I'd rather have Duchene than Kopitar. I'd rather have Kopitar than Sedin. Ask for Duchene, settle for Kopitar if you have to.

I would certainly get Duchene or Kopitar over Sedin. I like Duchene more than Kopi, but whichever one you get is a better play than Sedin.

Yeah both would be a great return for Hank, go for Duchene but Kopi is money.

this is largely because I'm a Kopitar homer, but I'm not trading Kopi for Duchene (understand that's not the point of this particular thread), just implying that Duchene is great, but there is no guarantee that he turns into what we all have been hoping he will. Not to mention I do think that Kopi is definitely stronger on the ice with regards to missing games.

Duchene has yet to crack the 80 points and honestly, a few years ago looked like he was primed to break out after posting 79 but since then he's been marred by injuries and simple inconsistent play. Adding Mack is not going to all of a sudden sky rocket Duchene into >82pts a season pending he play a full season again.

I'll be one of the few that will prefer Kopi over Duchene. Kopi has been performing against tough teams and the division realignment is going to end up being quite kind to the Kings, the Avs on the other hand will not be so fortunate with regards to the realignment. I think it's fair to say that the Av's will consistently be a cellar team in their respective division (only team within the next couple years that can and might finish behind them in the standings would be the Jets).

Either way, all that aside, I would prefer either Kopi or Duchene over H. Sedin now for sure. I suppose it's what you feel more comfortable doing with regards to Kopi vs. Duchene.

    Good Luck.

Thanks for your help so far everyone. I'm a tad surprised that the majority suggested Duchene (5 for Duchene, 1 for Kopitar), especially since Dobber ranks Kopitar 13th overall and Duchene 28th overall on his top 300 players list. What does everyone think Duchene is capable of, points wise both 3YP and upside?

One thing that needs to be taken into consideration is "who is the #1 C in Colorado in 2 years?". I have a pretty good feeling that it will be Mackinnon. Does that hurt Duchene's value? Duchene has more "puck skills" than Kopitar but since your league count's +/-, I'd give a slight bump to Kopitar.

My vote is for Kopitar. I'm throwing the "higher ceiling" factor to the side and choosing the player who is proven, well rounded, durable, and has no one stealing ice time from him for the foreseeable future. I am mitigating risk and still getting a great asset.
