Default My Vanek/Purcell for Perry/Dupuis should I? REP

A GM offered me this deal:

    My Vanek+Purcell for Perry+Dupuis

What do you guys think? ill most likely drop Dupuis and grab someone else from FA, but is this a good deal for me for this year and next season? I only get to keep three players this year, so I may not end up keeping Perry depending how he performs for the rest of the season, but its soo tantalizing I want to hit yes now lol. What should I do?

I think Perry is a much better keeper than Vanek in your format (hell, in any format), so yes I'd definitely pull the trigger.

Great time to sell high on Vanek.

Purcell and Dupius are pretty much the same player in my books, each guy getting to play with their superstar linemates.

So it comes down to Perry vs Vanek. While its tough to trade Vanek right now I belive Perry will regain his form and out produce Vanek (fantasy wise).

    1. Why accept this deal if you'll likely dump Dupuis? Just tell the guy he needs to add someone else other than Pascal for you to consider.
    2. I'd rather take my chances with Vanek/Purcell.

you're not reaching high enough on vanek.

    think ovechkin, seguin, nash.

plus, purcell is a damn serviceable option

Already tried Seguin and Ovechkin but it was a quick rejection. Im not sure about Nash, does he have a higher value that Perry? I didnt think he did

i would rather perry than nash personally

and i think perry is selling plenty high on vanek

the guy is 9th in points from 09-10 through today only 2 points out of 7th

he is 4th in goals over that same time period

i take it he wouldnt go for a straight up deal

i prefer nash to perry, the 'big 3' in anaheim is in flux right now. not a fan of having a guy who may be put in an unfamiliar situation in the near future.

for me, talent trumps all as well.

I'd rather have Perry over Seguin and Nash both, not that it really matters in the context of this thread.

This is a tough trade to make because of how hot Vanek is right now, but where my bigger concern lays, is in the difference between Purcell and Dupuis, I believe that Purcell is leaps and bounds better than Dupuis. But I still make the trade you are selling high on Vanek, and buying low on Perry, you are getting the best player in the deal, and of course Perry is a multi-cat stud.

Ya thats what makes me have second thoughts. I'll try to leave Purcell out of it and hope Vanek alone will be enough, even more so since he's my third biggest point producer atm and gets lots of PPP. Its a tough call between Perry and Nash, Ill get more PIM from Perry but better +/- and slightly more SOG from Nash. Kind of a toss up

No, I like Vanek a lot more than Perry, despite Perry's PIM. I'd rather have Vanek + a goon over Perry + a forward who can make up for the point gap between Perry and Vanek.

    Also,

    Purcell > Dupuis

I advise you to keep Vanek because he will keep producing as long as he's uninjured (a risk I personally am willing to take).

Thanks guys I decided to decline the deal. Ill stick with my Vanek/Purcell for the time being, or maybe see if I can get a better deal for him later.

Reps will be forthcoming to the ones I missed once im allowed to rep again lol. Your input is much appreciated cheers.

If you can get Plekanec or Elias in place of Dupuis I like the deal better for you, slight preference to Plekanec over Elias, but I'd be fine with either.

I like Perry and Plekanec/Elias over Vanek and Purcell.
