I think he is if the injury is going to have Smith out for any length of time. Likely Bernier who won't get a lot of starts anyway and likely not a keeper for you.

I think Chad Johnson will get the call. They'll probably let Visentin get more reps in the AHL, despite him being the guy with the most talent.

At the moment it's probably Chad Johnson.

He's the #1 for the Portland Pirates of the AHL. 14-8-2, 2.80 GAA and .912.

    Mark Visentin is the #2, 9-8-2, 2.88 and .911, but I don't think he's NHL ready.

I wouldn't be surprised that if Smith is out for an extended period of time, that they go out and maybe grab a Turco, Roloson or Conklin...

I agree. My guess is they think that Johnson is more NHL ready at this point. Could be wrong, but that's my guess for 3rd option. LBI on goalies are not usually a good thing, so probably best if you grab Larbarera for now.

I disagree. I think the team believes in LaBarbera and would roll with him until he proves he can't handle (the truth) it. LaBarbera is better than those three at this point in their careers, at least in my humble opinion.

If he's out for a while I hope he goes on IR quickly so that I can find a replacement on Yahoo.

The question was who is #3 and the potential call up. I agree that Labarbera will get the bulk of the starts. He's capable of some good stretches. He'll get every opportunity to be the temporary #1.

I'm thinking they roll with Barbs, but as a backup I could see them picking someone of the WW up, I don't think they'll be confident with Johnson as a backup to Barbs.
