    Default Start McElhinney?

Roto league, and I'm pretty close to on par for goalie starts. Stats are W, GAA and SVs. My current GAA on the year sits at 2.44. So I'm really looking for 2 goals against or less.

Any thoughts on starting McElhinney tonight? I'm feeling a little tepid about the Leafs and their chances. CLB has been good (and scoring well) plus the Leafs are on the second half of a B2B.

    Thanks in advance.

I would do it! I think tonight will be a lower scoring game tonight

I wouldn't do it. While Columbus hasn't been scoring at the same rate of late, there is substantial evidence that teams don't play as well on the second half of a B2B, and I tend not to trust goalies as much on the road. Plus it's McElhinney, not your star goalie.

i'm in the same boat, looking for 2 goals or less from McElhinney. The positives are Mac did well last game he played, and the Leafs scored 7 last night and only gave up 1 (on a PS). The bad news is that CBJ average almost 4 per game against the Leafs, and the Leafs are BTB, and away from home. I may sit him tonight, and watch him get a SO.

It might work out great but there's a part of my brain that cannot process going with McElhinney in a fantasy league.

I've almost picked up Mcelhinney for his last two starts and have regretted not doing so, but on the back end of home and home away from home this strikes me as a little risk

I need less than 5 starts from him over the course of the rest of the season too, so I may just wait for a bit of a better matchup. Appreciate the input guys.

I think he's played pretty well the past couple starts but expecting him to give you 2 goals or less may be a stretch. If that's your parameters you are basing this on, I wouldn't gamble.

I would do it. I may or may not be a biased Leafs fan.

Appreciate the info. The win is less important than the goals against though.

According to my calculations his next start will be against Colorado.

Colorado would be a much better matchup.

Especially considering 12 mins in and he has 2 goals against already. Glad I sat him.

i sat him too, but with 18 shots in the 1st period, if that keeps up, the GAA will be OK.

We are off the hook...3 goals halfway thru the game. Officially a good decision to sit him. Usually when I do that the goalie has a 50 shot SO
