    Default Tavares/Neal HELP!!

    Team is in Sig

    the trade would be:

    My John Tavares

    for

    his James Neal Travis Zajac

    my Keepers now are

Crosby Tavares Backstrom Seguin Benn Getzlaf Iginla Letang Landeskog Weber Price Rinne Ward

after trade it would be same except Neal instead of Zajac. Goals are worth more then Assists in this league is this a smart move for my team?

    I was thinking of countering

Tavares and a 5th round pick

    for

Zajac Neal and a 2nd round pick..

I wouldn't do either. Iginla or Landeskog would go first. I'd probably try sending those two for Neal straight up. If need be, I'd throw picks in. If that wouldn't work, I'd seriously thinking about sending Getzlaf for him, if you truly covet Neal. No way in hell John John should be going anywhere.

I would do it in your format. Neal is one of the best goal scorers in the game. He also offers better peripherals. And, despite the fact you probably won't keep Zajac, he'll help you this year. I feel he's gonna have a solid bounce back year.

If you can get the 2nd rounder as well, then it's icing on the cake.

This is one of those good ones to hum and haw over.

WINGER... this is so hard to fill...

Centre - much easier to fill...

Tavares - as close to knowing that you got something awesome as it gets

Neal - pretty sure you got something awesome...

    Age isn't a factor.

Centres need to outscore wingers by 10 points (centres score more points & wingers are rarer).

I'm not going to dwell on the keeper thoughts. The big pieces are too important and the final keeper spot can be worked and re-worked simple enough.

Extended CATS I'd have to review carefully, to determine if this pulled one guy ahead by a bit.

Salary isn't overly a factor. Neal is a steady $5.0M while Tavares rises to $6.0M. Both are signed for a good period of time.

Both are in good situations to be successful. It's nice that Tavares leads, while Neal is second or third fiddle (if he's a third fiddle it's by far the nicest third fiddle in the NHL).

    Age isn't a factor.

I have Tavares. There's a good chance I'd do this... wings are tough to fill... (particularly in straight points).

I'd say you got yourself one heck of a return. I've never had the pleasure of owning Tavares, but I traded Neal for Heatley in the league in my sig a few seasons back. I'd give anything to take that back. With a goal-dominated league like yours, I'd be even more anxious to get Neal.
