It should be written in pro contracts that players can only play hockey in the National Hockey League. Forget about the Olympics, Worlds, etc. Teams and fans invest way too much in these players to see them blowing out knees in an International tournament in the summer. If I just re-upped my Caps season tickets for 8 grand I wouldn't be too happy right now.

While they are at it, professional hockey players should be prohibited from using any power tools, crossing the street, consuming any alcohol, or coming within 50 feet of any open fire; after all, these things are dangerous, and your professional hockey team owns you :-)

Yeah, screw the fact that it's the nationally funded youth programs that makes these guys what they are. Let's just look at it the most short-sighted way possible, because the NHL is all that matters. Sorry, but your comment is just stupid.

The Olympics are a real tournament with actual talented rosters. I have no problem with NHL players heading that way once every four years.

The World Championships are a joke of a tournament that are becoming more and more pointless every year. Any good GM would ban their players from attending.

Huh? Hes fine. Ovies an athlete... He got off the ice before the knee buckled. I think he just saw his career flash before his eye tho and realized this sh*t aint worth it. 3-4 years from now a hit like that would end his career. His fast twitch muscles are still a firin though. Hell be sore for a week. I repeat hes fine. I shoulda bet my buddy las night smh.
