Default Letang has lost his lustre?

Has Letang lost a bit of his lustre?

Due to a host of injury issues, it seems like he has really lost some value around these parts.

Should I still be looking at him as a guy with 60+ potential for points?

If he played 80 games, yes.
But we all know that won't happen.

Anyone else around here remember when Crosby lost his lustre and everyone was trading him a couple years ago?

I just traded for Letang in a cap league. The other team was rebuilding and had three holes on defense and couldn't afford both Letang and Krejci.

I own letang in my secondary league, but not my main one....I am always drawn to him and then he screws me....I swear it's like battered wife syndrome.

Just something to keep in mind: Letang is 27 years old, has been in the league for seven full seasons, and has only hit 50 points once (mostly because of injuries: his points-per-game pace is great). So 60-plus is too optimistic.

i agree that 60 is lofty expectation, but by no means should letang be counted out at this point. 50 is still attainable and by god that is pretty darn good for a dman still...right? as a caveat, i am still a green fan so there you have it.

If you're in a H2H league, Letang still has ELITE value (i.e. top3 at the D position). He may not play a full season, but if he's in your lineup for the fantasy playoffs, his per-game production will be borderline #1 in the league. Kris Letang is still easily a top-5 fantasy Dman in my book.

Agreed and also surprised so many are down on him, perfect buy low. I just picked him up in a partial keeper league where another GM had to unload one of his three elite dmen.

This is how I look at it too, potential is a great thing but consistency is usually what wins leagues.

Crosby had 4 100 point seasons when people were talking of trading him which was ridiculous

Letang has yet to eclipse 50 points

I think there is a huge difference when comparing the two players

Crosby had proven multiple times at that point to be one of the best if not best players in the league, Letang one time tied for 6th in defenseman scoring

And yet he's still considered one of the best fantasy Dmen to own when healthy.

True, but Gaborik is now 32. Letang is 27, pretty much prime age for a D.
