First 10-team H2H draft complete. Thoughts?

My team is in my signature (still working thought how to best arrange that).

Shelby Miller is on the WW, should I grab him? I was sort of late to the part in grabbing pitchers.

This is my first time and I basically used Dobber's spreadsheet as a guide for drafting. Not only do I know nothing about fantasy baseball, I know little about the MLB. But I am looking to change that this year.

Anyway, opinions are greatly appreciated!

Pretty solid all around, weaknesses are pretty easy to point out here.

1. I'm not convinced Crawford will ever be the same. Middlebrooks should be starting over him.
2. Madson is injury prone and starting the season on the DL. May want to handcuff him with Frieri, try to trade for him.
3. Haren and Fiers aren't bad, but those two could certainly be upgraded with a trade. Use Youkilis and Cuddyer as trade bait.

Its a 10 team league so I wouldn't grab Miller right away, could you list the top free agents by percentage owned?

Like I said though, overall you did a nice job.

So that will give me 6 SP. Is that generally what I want on my team is 6 SP and 4 RP (or that ratio at least)? My concern is getting enough saves and I'm curious if there is a rule of thumb for pitchers.

I wouldn't worry about that. Trust me, these moves really improve your team.

Last question, why drop Rutledge over Cuddyer? Just looking at %Owned Rutledge is basically the best guy on the FA now. Do you anticipate Cuddyer having a better year than Rutledge? If so I trust your opinion but I'm just curious.

I'm not really a huge fan of either to be honest, Cuddyer is solid but not great and your OF is deep. Rutledge is pretty decent, but you already have a top SS. When those guys are available, you have to make room for them.

Trust me, the moves will work out. Middlebrooks, Hellickson and Harrison are studs.

I rarely carry many bats on the bench since (unlike hockey) baseball teams play almost every day - you never really need to roll bats in and out of the lineup that often. I tend to use the majority of my bench spots on starting pitching since each of them obviously only pitch every five days. I won last year using that strategy, and while I led the league in pitcher walks and losses, I also led in the other pitching categories so it balanced in my favour considerably. Other guys carried 5 bats on the bench and never really used them. A waste of roster spots in my opinion. As long as you have a decent core of good bats, building a portfolio of quality starting pitching with your remaining bench spots is the key to a title.
