I think Backes is the winner here. Purcell is ultimately a product of two other guys. He drops to the 2nd line and his stats drop considerably. Backes is the captain of his team and will consistently see top 6 minutes and PP/PK time.
Which one do I keep? Backes or Purcell.
2nd year of a 5 year dynasty. Eberle is the other right wing I am keeping.

"We've had a couple shakers in this place. This year we haven't had the time. We had a couple good ones last year, right?" - Phil Kessel
I choose Purcell. While TK might be right, Tampa has nobody in the organization to challenge Purcell and he will James Neal his way in to production. Backes is on a more defensive team with some offensive studs coming up. Not saying he will become a checking line winger, but I do think he will be counted on for more defensive minutes leaving Oshie, Tarasenko, Berglund, Perron more offensive opportunity
backes
although selanne could be tempting if you think anaheim will bounce back
Selanne is very tempting...except he will likely only be around for one more year as opposed to both Purcell and Backes who are much younger in their careers.
5 year dynasty: 5 year keeper league with an overall winner at the end based on finishes each year
1st place = 10 points
2n place = 9 points
3rd place = 8 points etc...
Tally all your points at the end of the 5th year and the winner takes the cake
again it all depends on what you think selanne can do but i dont think him not being around next year is a problem under this setup
winning this year i would think would be your goal
worry about filling a single keeper spot after you win if that is something you end up having to do
Backes for me. PIM really swings into his favour in my opinion. Backes also has a great perceived trade value that you might be able to take advantage of, an advantage that Purcell doesn't have. Personally I'm not big on Purcell, not sure he can repeat the numbers he had last year, but obviously he has awesome linemates that could make him better last years totals.
Gun to my head, I'd say Backes out points Purcell this season, and that's not factoring the big difference in PIM.
