I don't disagree that Torts needs to go, but so does Avery. The guy is a classless clown and is terrible for hockey even when he isn't in the game any longer.
I'll never forget when I first met the douche.....he came out as a ringer for my university intramural team (childhood buddy of one of our team members) when he was still playing in the OHL. He wasn't any better that a lot of guys on my team and drove every guy on BOTH teams crazy with his nonsense.......what a total loser.

Captain Callahan and Avery definitely fall on polar opposite ends of the class spectrum. I am shocked that Torts still has a job though, it's been shown in the past that his style of coching has a very limited shelf-life before players start to tune it out......I'm not really privy to the politics behind the scenes in NYC, why hasn't it happened yet? How bad does it have to get before it does?

I've never understood the Avery hate. He says things to get people upset, but it's okay to kill other hockey players and you can still be liked. Pronger, Cooke, Scott Stevens, Bobby Clark and on and on and on. Hockey history is littered with people that have gone out of their way to injure other players and they are lionized. Avery makes a comment about sloppy seconds and he is Keyser Soze.
No mentions the time he said that he would stand up for a gay hockey player. That if young gay kids had difficulty dealing with kids who picked on them that he would go to the game, stand by th eplayer and then see if those same morons would still pick on him.
I think Sean Avery is an all right guy and if his opinion is that Torts is past his best before date, then so be it. He's allowed to express it.
