Once a schedule is released, I'll put together a new version for the shortened season and post it for all of you. I wouldn't hang you all out to dry!

Thanks rjfisher!
This, IMO, is the most important tool available in daily-start leagues with 2G & bench slots. Here is a helpful summary of the NHL schedule on goalies: BACK-TO-BACK GAMES: HIGH: DET(12), CHI(12), CBJ(11), ANA(10), STL(10), PHI(10), NJ(10) Helps: Gustavsson, Emery, Elliott, etc. Hurts: Howard, Crawford, Halak, etc. LOW: NYR(6), BOS(7), VAN(7), PIT(7), FLA(7), NYI(7) Helps: Lundqvist, Rask, Nabokov, etc. DAILY NOTES: Monday (164 NHL Team Games, 82 Matches) HIGH: ANA(10), PHX(10), TOR(9), COL(8), CGY(8) LOW: WAS(0), BUF(2), FLA(2), PIT(2) Tuesday (258 NHL Team Games, 129 Matches) HIGH: WPG(14), WAS(13), TB(12), FLA(12) LOW: ANA(3), PHX(4), CGY(4), DET(5) Wednesday (110 Team NHL Games, 55 Matches. LOWEST DAY OF WEEK) HIGH: CGY(9), ANA(8), COL(7), MON(7) LOW: FLA(0), CAR(0), NYI(0), WPG(0) Thursday (276 NHL Team Games, 138 Matches) HIGH: NYI(14), FLA(13), CAR(13), TOR(13) LOW: ANA(2), CHI(5), CGY (5) Friday (132 NHL Team Games, 66 Matches) HIGH: ANA(10), CGY(9), DAL(7), DET(7) LOW: TOR(0), MON(0), LA(1), FLA(2), CAR(2) Saturday (314 NHL Team Games, 157 Matches. HIGHEST DAY OF WEEK) HIGH: TOR(14), MON(14), PHX(13), NAS(13), PHI(13) LOW: CHI(7), CGY(7), STL(8), WPG(8) Sunday (186 NHL Team Games, 93 Matches. SPECIAL NOTE: IN H2H LEAGUES, THIS IS TYPICALLY THE CRITICAL "LAST DAY OF MATCH-UP") HIGH: BUF(11), DET(10), CHI(10), WAS(8), STL(8) LOW: TOR(0), PHX(2), CAR(3), NAS(4), MON(4) Best Team to Own Players to Minimize Games Played Conflicts: 1. Anaheim. Plays mostly a M/W/F schedule + some Sunday games. 2. Calgary. Plays mostly a M/W/F schedule + some Sunday games. 3. Chicago. Plays several Sunday games, good for H2H end-match line-ups. 4. Colorado. Several M/W matches. 5. Detroit. Several Friday & Sunday games. *NOTE: Unsurprisingly, due to the intra-conference schedule, all 5 of these chosen "best" teams are in the Western Conference. Worst Teams to Own Players, play consistently on the most popular nights: Tue/Thurs/Sat. 1. Toronto. A very consistent M/Tu/Th/Sat schedule with ZERO Sunday games. Yuck. 2. Montreal. A bit similar, but at least they have (4) Sunday games. 3. Florida. A very regular Tu/Th/Sat/Sun schedule. Barely any games on W/F. 4. Carolina. Mostly Tu/Th/Sat/Sun schedule. Barely any games on W/F. 5. Winnipeg? Does the intra-conference only (East Cost) travel get to them? *NOTE: Unsurprisingly, due to the intra-conference schedule, all 5 of these chosen "worst" teams are in the Eastern Conference. Some thoughts: i) Opinions are divided on whether goalies will play more or less. (PRO-MORE: Games are more important. PRO-LESS: More back-to-back games than normal. For example, Detroit plays 24 of 48 games in back-to-back nights). ii) With that in mind, and the scheduling - I think West Coast goalies may be better to own this year for a few reasons: *1) Seems like there is less offensive skater talent in the West. *2) Later start times give many of us a better opportunity to "check the listed starting G". *3) Less game conflicts. Hope this was helpful to everybody. Big thanks to rjfisher for this incredibly valuable (if used right) tool! GAME ON! Last edited by Pengwin7; 01-13-2013 at 02:32 PM. |

Love this tool. It's so useful for me at the end of the season when picking up players is just as much about getting the most out of the players as it is about how well they do.
