Call me crazy but someone like Evander Kane doesn't strike me as the type who would give up his number to a kid entering the league.

Maybe. And Eichel doesn't strike me as the type that will try to get his number either. Just thinking out loud. I know Kane rocked #98 in the KHL and it looked awesome! I would actually love it Kane offered up the number 9 (showing he's a team player) and switched to #98! Then the Sabres could offer to switch all the #9 name bars to "Eichel" and offer those same fans a #98 Kane jersey for $98.00 instead of $150. Do a "switch your 9 to Eichel and get a Kane for 98" promotion!

If the Bruins are in cap trouble what are the odds Douggie H is available, and at what cost? Could the Sabres make a play here??

Thinking no odds, my thought is that outside of Rask he is the last player they would let go of.

I agree that the bruins would likely find a way to protect the asset that is young Hamilton even if it means taking it on the chin on a possible Chara or Krejci salary dump.

The Sabres should have signed both of them to NHL contracts last season as they would have been an improvement over a number of their forwards.

Much like NYR and Talbot, VAN has multiple offers on Lack. Hearing BUFF among most interested. #TSN

Don't mind that deal for the Sabres (and really nice move for the Sens too). Had a bunch of picks, and suggests to me that T. Murray sees little difference between the likely players he'd have available to fill needs at 21 and 31.

Agreed. I like it. I am confident Murray is smart enough with expert scouting acumen to know what value he has has in Lehner. Good goalies aren't cheap. He targeted his guy and got 'em.
