Regardless of one's opinion of Grigorenko as a player, there's no doubt the Sabres really dropped the ball on this one. Not only do they burn a year off his ELC, they also get him one year closer to UFA status. All while not really getting a good glimpse of him at the NHL level.
The kick in the ass is Rolston is putting him w/Hecht and Gerbe - third line if I'm not mistaken.

Despite the score, Enroth is a man on fire.

whats the general consensus about Miller and his being a Sabre come th new season? Enroth is on my bench and am thinking about hanging onto either him or Allen, but not sure which one..

i realize its likely not on any radars just yet, but looking for your thoughts...

Ron Rolston's interm tag removed. He's officially named head coach.

If they are going into full rebuild, you'd have to think they would be shopping Vanek. With the right centre he could really thrive.

Just listened to a great interview w/Sabres scout guru Kevin Devine. I'll post a link to it when it's up on the site(WGR550).

He confirmed that Regier has indeed talked to and continues to talk to Colorado with regard to obtaining the #1 overall. The fact that Colorado is not inclined towards a full rebuild helps. The issue is not so much the players needed to get the pick, rather how far back Colorado is willing to fall.

Salary cap issues aside (if any), I would not be surprised to see one or both of Miller/Vanek in play here, not to mention a prospect dman.

Failing that, look for Regier to make a move (if need be) for Barkov (Divine comparing him to a Kopitar-type). Divine indicated his draft board has 1-2 lumped, and then a drop off from 3-10. When pushed for his top two he burped Mackinnon...and then stopped himself.

    Good stuff. Very exciting.
