Boston College won in 1-0 in OT, on a goal scored by Minnesota Wild prospect, Alex Tuch. Demko was great throughout the game holding BU scoreless, posting his ninth shutout of the season. Which is important, as the 9th shutout means that Thatcher Demko passes former Canucks goaltender Cory Schneider for the Boston College single-season shutout record.
22-4-4 with a save % of 0.938.. Pretty solid season!!

PLEASE trade Vrbata...and Miller...and Hamhuis...and even Burrows for some D and high picks.

Burrows can come back in the offseason if he likes.
Just don't think you can make a run and let Vrbata and Hamhuis go.
It's been a solid season considering. Next year, the youngsters can take a step forward. But for now, fall a bit in the standings and retool.

Yes, and trade Hansen while your at it.

Burrows has another year left - makes it tough and his cap hit is high.

My thoughts are trade Hansen - I think they have been showcasing him all year.

I would retain a bit of Burrows salary if you could get a decent prospect/pick. No need to get aggressive in the free agent market next season so the money shouldn't be needed. We need to get younger through the draft.

Sadly I think the ownership is not in line with a full on rebuild.

The sticky point is they can only retain salary on 3 players - one down with Lou already. So Burrows is a good canidate - but so is Higgens, Prust, Miller, Vrbata, Hamhuis

What a joke. Talk about crap asset management.

Vrbata still on the team -- lost for nothing this summer.
Hamhuis still on the team -- should've gotten something; he'd be back this summer anyways.

    Ugh. Disappointing day.

Anton Rodin has won the Golden Helmet, which goes to the most valuable player of the Swedish Elite League.
Rodin was the Canucks second round pick in 2009 and returned to Sweden two years ago after a couple of years in the AHL. The Canucks will try to re-sign him during the off-season after he 16 goals and 37 points in 33 games for Brynas. Stay tuned as he could be fantasy relevant if he manages to hook on with Vancouver. A year after their first round matchup, the Flames and Nucks are playing for something again -- a better lottery shot.

At this point, the Nucks should get a solid player wherever they pick.
If they don't get Matthews (can't turn him down), tough to know what to root for.
Finns, Dubois and Tkachuk will be tough to turn down, but they could use one of the top d-men.

Brutal year. Still pissed they didn't get anything for Vrbata or Hamhuis at the deadline.

hoping they stay in the top 3 after the lottery.

    Well... that was bad luck.
Clearly disappointed in not being top 3 -- there seems to be a unanimous drop after Matthews and the Finns -- but also not thrilled with the fact that the next tier is two Fs whereas D is probably greatest need.

It'd be awesome to deal down 3-5 picks, nab one of the top d-men, and get more picks.

    Cool Re: Vancouver Canucks

Bummer. Agreed a top three would have helped tremendously in a transition from the Sedin era to the next one.

Do we have what it would take to move up in a deal with either Winnipeg or Columbus ?
Don't have any idea what Benning and Linden have in the cup boards to trade.

Felt like Perreault - Tallon déjà vu.

If much rather they live down. There are more needs than one of the Finns can fix. I'd rather pick later, get a Dman and add more picks later.
