I think Cowtown pounds the Nucks tonight.. The Canucks are going to need Miller to stand on his head tonight to even have a chance..

The crowd in Cowtown will be tough. The Flames will hustle like crazy to pucks. But if the Canucks bring the same energy that they did in Game 5 and Miller plays like a $6 million goalie and Real Good Willie gives the Sedins 20+ minutes each, then I don't see why this can't go seven. Go Canucks!

    Painful. Just painful.

The Sedins deserve better than the team they have around them -- the twins were dangerous on every shift, but the D coughed up the puck so many times it was unbearable.

Not taking away from the Flames -- they capitalized on every opportunity.

I hope the Nucks take blueliner after blueliner this summer. With Virtanen, Cassels, Shinkaruk, McCann, Baertschi, etc. getting ready to come into the mix, we need some help beyond Tanev and Hamhuis. Bieksa and Sbisa were abysmal.

I started a thread about the Canucks defense in the general hockey forum. I stated that I thought the Canucks needed to shake up their D if they could, but the general response was that the D wasn't as bad as they seem. I still stand by my thoughts that the Canucks really don't have much to work with on the blue line.

    In terms of the D:
I really hope Edler gets moved (been hoping this for a few years now). He's super frustrating for me to watch.
I still don't understand the Sbisa resigning.
Bieksa has depreciated pretty quickly (though he might still be affected by the injury)
Tanev is alright - I'm just not as high on him as most people
Hamhuis - like bieksa, is depreciating faster than I like (he's probably my favourite D on the Canucks....which doesn't say much).
Weber - just feels like a fill in that has yet to be replaced.

The Sedins are defintely talented but they aren't 1st liners anymore.. Yes the Canucks need some D-men, but they also need a 1st line..

This team has certainly made some baffling moves this offseason...
Probably the best 4th line in hockey though

    Prust - Vey - Dorsett

Too bad it costs $6.15 M in cap hit.

Very confused with the summer for my Nucks.

The return for Kassian wasn't worth moving him IMO -- why not hold on to him and see if someone is looking for a big body at the deadline?
They didn't get enough for Lack either (although tough to say that there was more to get, and they needed to move him or Miller).

If I had my way, they'd commit to falling a bit more and accumulate some more picks. Ideally, they move Miller (probably not feasible, but...) and Vrbata (if the return is solid) along with Bieksa.

I don't see the Sedins going -- they'd be too hard to move as a pair methinks -- although it might be good for the future of the franchise to explore it (if they were willing and interested).

ya not feeling warm and fuzzy myself.

with the moves other teams in the conference have made it shouldn't be hard to commit to falling a bit more.

If you're fully committed to rebuild, then just agree to retain a bunch of their salaries (Miller, Sedins, Burrows).
That makes all of them much more attractive on the trade market, and might mean that you land some solid prospects/picks in return.

Sweet start to the season! Sedin's look to be continuing from where they left off last season. Hutton looks good!

Canucks are off to bad start on their road trip, tolerable as the Coilers are back to their usual seat at the back of the bus.

Shinkaruk - wonder if he gets the call up soon?
