John Stevens appears to be the head coach target of the Canucks.

Canucks have contacted the Kings in order to speak with Stevens.
Was on the news, don't have a link yet.

I think Tippett re-signs with Phoenix. If he's stated he will wait out the ownership, obviously he wants it to work out there.

Not sure about Stevens for the Canucks, but can see how Eakins may not be the right fit either for a veteran team like Vancouver.

I think Stevens is kinda like AV... He is a players coach and will give them the room and nothing will change... So I really think that is a bad choice... They need someone more ass hole like... Like torts but not him ahahha not to that extreme ahah

    !!!

He's just there for an interview....getting it would be far down the road. Van is doing the smart thing and interviewing a ton of different people, which I like to see.

well, chances of Edler to Philly are even down to about zero i would say now, it was slim before.
No chance of Lou going there either. Philly will have cap issues.

Didn't really see the Flyers working for a Lu deal anyways. And, besides speculation on Nucks blogs, is there any reason to think Edler's going anywhere?

I may have to find a new team to cheer for if they sign Torts...I'm already frustrated with management and the spotty officiating in the playoffs. I think Torts would just compound the bullshit of last year from Gillis.

On the upside it would make the interviews interesting.

Honestly, I never liked the idea of Tortorella coaching the Canucks. During his tenure in New York the power play and offensive rankings were quite poor. (Even though the team didn't have legitimate scoring depth). Tortorella is too quick to react without any emotional control with plenty of hilarious youtube videos on display.

Reflecting on the Canucks' play over the last two seasons the most frustrating aspect of the team's game was the lack of visbile emotion. This is subjective, however for particular games; Chicago, Boston, LA, St. Louis, the Canucks played with a ferocious forecheck and constant defensive pressure pushing the offensive zone. Over the last two seasons when the Canucks played this way they resembled a completely different team, a team that is comparable to the 2011 squad.

Now I am excited for Tortorella to implement his system and push whatever is left out of this roster. Tortella has a cup and has played with offensive players. He has accumlated new experiences in New York and can adjust his personality to a certain degree.

This is a good gamble. Management and the players know the window is shrinking. If Tortorella is successful it's genius. If it fails, it's time for a rebuild anyways.

Bring on Torts and let's enjoy the show off and on the ice.
