I'm talking about the head snap back that he did which led to his unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

And as for leaving it to the refs to call penalties, it clearly did not work last year.

Agreed on Kesler -- too good a player to screw around with crap like that.

As for the Sedins, I don't mind it much. It's becoming part of their charm -- they're better than the crap other teams try to pull. Better to simply take it, then embellish or get called for retaliating.

I wouldn't be sad if someone popped a guy for doing it either, but I kinda like that they opt to get poked, punched and pushed -- they just go out and win back-to-back(-to-back?) scoring titles!

Luongo has been unstoppable. Been a great bounceback!

pretty nit picky. hardly enough to even worry about, he was just trying to draw a penalty. can't even believe you would mention it.

don't jump on the Kesler hate band wagon, its circling these boards guns blazing.

He will do a few stupid things every now and then but that's because he plays on the edge with lots of emotion. He has come a long way since Gillis told him and Burrows to shut their yaps.

Wow couldn't believe the crowd last night booing with no penalty on Sedin!
    Then chanting go Canucks go!!

The Sedins are really heating up, great goals by Daniel!

Schneider had a great game after not playing for a couple of weeks.

I wasn`t a fan of when they were doing it in the playoffs and I am not a fan of it now. This isn`t a matter of hopping on the Kesler hate band wagon. He`s actually my favourite player in the league. (*ahem* hence the avatar that i've had for the past year)

But STONE hit the nail on the head. He`s too good of a player to do that type of shit. Every time I see him do something like that or complain to the referees after a whistle it kills me.

And its not nit picky, because I`ve started to notice in the games over the course of the past few weeks that refs are actually starting to ignore legitimate penalties committed against him. That`s not helping the team at all.

    fair enough.

I think most of the players have no idea what the refs are going to call and not going to call thanks to Bettman.

Man, watching someone flip the puck into an open net as Luongo lies on his belly for no ****ing reason never gets old.

Man are the Canucks being sloppy with the puck, particularly the 1st PP.

Sorry about the lack of updates over the last week guys, completely forgot lol.

Anyways, David Booth is playing his first game since suffering a knee injury on December 6. The Amex line is going to be back together today.

Ballard returns to the lineup as well taking the place of Andrew Alberts.

    Edler-Rome
    Ballard-Sulzer.

    Luongo is in net.

Cory Schneider will be getting the start against the Blackhawks tomorrow night.

Count that as two 'emotional' starts that Luongo will be sitting on the bench for. AV insists that this was a decision to entice Schneider to keep working out over the break, and to give Luongo a chance to relax a bit.

The Sedins and Edler weren't at practice but that likely stems from making the trip back to Vancouver from Ottawa last night. Cody Hodgson was at practice (mind you he didn't do much during All-Star weekend lol).

Canucks did not deserve a point in last night's game against the Wings -- Luongo absolutely saved them through two periods. Brutal effort for the first 40 minutes from most everybody.

But in the shootout, it was typical Luongo.

And why is Edler taking the first shot in the shootout?

I don't know if you guys feel the same way but to me this team hasn't felt the same since losing to the Kings on NYE. They were on a roll before that loss and since then they haven't really been able to gain any momentum. They also haven't looked as sharp.

yeah, they need to mix up their shootouts a bit more. I can understand the sedins just dont have it in shootouts, but try tossing in booth or burrows or hodgson..
raymond cant do anything unless he spins
edler needs to shoot and not deke
and dammit shoot some pucks at schneider in the hallway during OT so he's ready to be put in for the shootouts! lol

Interesting note from the Canucks practice today,

Keith Ballard was seen practicing in Chris Higgins' spot on the second line for a brief period, and it appears that he may play as third line LW with Hodgson and Hansen in the Canucks' next game. Raymond took Higgins' spot on the second line with Kesler and Booth.
