To me, it looked like Moore was the one initiating contact so regardless of who ended up on the ice he was the "instigator" there and consequently the one getting the penalty. And in my opinion time of the call shouldn't matter one bit, if it's a penalty it shouldn't matter if it's a 1st minute or 59th.

For those saying that since the refs let them play in the 3rd that they should have over looked Moore's penalty as well, I'd say bollocks. It's one thing to let some marginal calls slide when it's a two way "battle" say along the boards at the blue line or center ice. Completely different thing if such an action directly results in a prime scoring chance near the crease regardless of when in the game it happened.

As someone that has played professionally ( different sport but similar environment ) I always appreciated refs like those. The ones that actually let you play confidant enough in knowing that anything "major" would get called properly.

I can understand the sentiment among Bruins fans as there were some calls that were outright wrong ( Think Sosh should have gotten more along with the following suspension, that whistle that stopped Bruins in our end when Martin blew his blade ) but all you can hear from their corner are cries of conspiracy. In my opinion, there were just as many ( if not more ) things that Bruins got away with in this game too.

I'm a Leafs fan but that Sosh's hit was dirty as hell, not a fan of it. But it did seem to galvanize the Leafs a bit cause to my uneducated eye they became much more active after that.

It was certainly a penalty. But it should not have been called.

The whistles were put away for most of the 3rd period, so many calls were let go. And to be fair the Bruins got away with more, but you don't call a penalty with 2min left in a tied hockey game when you let everything else slide.

As a leafs fan I'm happy with the result. As a hockey fan it was a terrible way to end the game.

Complaining about the missed calls/refs is for losers.

You'll never hear me complain about Fraser missing the Gretzky high stick.

    Such is life.

So invigorating seeing some meaningful games in March and exciting ones at that. Really encouraged by the buds more recent ability to hold 3rd period leads against quality competition. I'm off to see them hopefully log another WIN tonight vs NJ. And my son gets to watch his former favorite Hall vs new Fav's Matthews and Marner.

    Life is good these days.

It’s pretty noticeable now that they don’t forecheck super hard when defending a lead now. They were doing that at the beginning of the yr, now they are more passive and it seems to be helping so much.

Kids not backing down to any giant. I love it. The Martin-Boyle-Fehr line was energetic, but I fear Fehr/Martin/Polak are going to feed too much off each other and get to focused on hits. Fehr had some really close hits, and ones Leafs were lucky not to get called against on.

The Leafs are stupid fun to watch and I hope they make the playoffs. I just enjoy watching them every time I turn on their games. So many Canadian teams in the playoffs this year so I expect these forums to be pretty much a shit show, but if we can get past that and just enjoy the hockey then we can enjoy it more. Congrats Leaf fans, no matter what happens!

I'm curious why Kapanen isn't generating more talk. He's got 40 points in 41 games in the AHL this season. He's ripe and I see him pushing hard for a roster spot next season.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

More like why hasn’t any Marlie generated a lot of talk?
    Rychel is ripping it.
Andreas JohnsSon first NA action is killing it
    Kapanen is ppg
    Leipsic in 38games has 39pts
Nielsen as a D is doing great
Seth Griffith is 35pts in 27games.

They have a guy who’s name is Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond, I just want to see his name on a jersey (just has Leblond I think normally). But besides Leipsic, all are top 6 guys really (Rychel could do well on a 3rd I guess). Leipsic is going to be the new Komarov once he leaves, which is sad because I really liked him but he’s a FA after 2017-18 season.

If the Leafs won half of their 15 OT/SO games losses we'd be first in the division.

    Isn't that crazy?

Very impressed with this group. Playoffs would be so invaluable but these games are also serving up a big lesson.

Two B2B left, and the last one is Pitts and CBJ. Really hope both dont need those points because they could be resting players by then.

HUGE win tonight boysss... I would've been satisfied with 2 points on this road trip, but to capture the extra 2 in Nashville is massive.

Don't look now but we're only 2 back of the Sens.
