If todays line rushes have any meaning at all, hes (Carrick) starting tomorrow over Polak and Corrado.

So with the rosters released, this is how I see the lines shaping out to start the year:
Shutdown line:
Michalek-Kadri-Komarov

Top offensive line:
JvR-Bozak-Marner

Second offensive line:
Hyman-Matthews-Nylander

4^th line:
Martin-Holland-Brown/Griffith. With Griffith moving into maybe Hyman’s or Michalek’s role every few games.

Defense:
Rielly-Marincin
Gardiner-Carrick
Hunwick-Zaitsev
Carrado/Polak being reserves

Powerplay 1:
JvR-Matthews-Marner
Rielly-Kadri
Maybe Kadri lines up at center to take the draw, but he played the point last yr and did pretty well.

Powerplay 2:
Nylander-Bozak-Komarov
Gardiner-Zaitsev with a Forward maybe subbing into one of the spots (Michalek).

I know Rielly isn’t on the PP at all, but I don’t see how you keep him off that for too long. Maybe they want to keep Bozak with JvR/Marner so he gets top PP minutes instead of Matthews.

Not overly impressed by Freddie. Though young defence has hung him out to dry more then once tonight.
Though I've seen some nice glimpses in Zaits & Connor.
Gonna be a fun season.
Mariner has had his moments too.

Marner 6 shots and a post, man... so much young talent up and down this line up now.

It'll be a long season with a lot of headaches, but also going to be fun too, for the first time in years.

i said it the minute they acquired him, he's going to look terrible this season. our D suck so it's no surprise he got lit up, and it's going to happen several times this year.

No pressure playing your 1st home game in a leaf uniform.. none, none at all! He'll settle in. We should all settle in for a very long up and down season. So many positives in that game though too.

Matthews said it's 'my fault' in the interview afterward. Talk about yo-yo emotions for that kid tonight
