    Kadri-Nylander-Matthews-Komarov
    Zaitsev.

That’s what LWL has for the Leafs on the PP on the game vs the Jets. They must be behind.

They ended the 5 on 3 PP and scored with seconds left. Then scored again on the 5 on 4.

But the Rielly Gardiner Bozak JVR Marner unit started the shortened (1min and change) 5 on 3.

Weird how LWL doesn't show that.

But the Matthews unit (Hyman) drew the Byfuglien penalty to begin with. They started that PP and drew another penalty half way through. Than the other unit came on to start the 5 on 3.

Matthews unit is probably the 'first' unit, but both need work and it wouldn't shock me if these lines get juggled soon. But that won't be for another couple weeks Id think.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully Rielly just eats pp time moving forward and they give up on this Gardiner dream. Zaitsev is a solid PPD tho

    Wow....simply wow

Hands down Kadris' best game of his career.
    Sosh, Brown etc etc.

This team is so good to watch.

I wouldn’t say his best game, but he definitely had one of his best. The final goal was just a vet out muscling a rookie. If it was football, that’s pass interference on Kadri tho lol.

I think teams know how to shutdown McDavid now, it’s just executing it. It’s simple, don’t give him space, but you need the whole line to be working at 110%. He is shifty, but you just don’t let him go in a straight line for 4 strides and you can out muscle him. Like you just need waves of players stopping him.

Marincin stepped up at the blue line, McDavid chipped it around him and got past him easily (slowed down), Komarov came in and directed him into the boards (squeaked by eventually), Kadri was there already to pick up the loose puck and get it away from McDavid.

Don’t give stars time or space.

I actually heard Go Leafs Go chants again while watching it. That’s almost unheard of.

Good thing it's hockey then so it was a clean legal play.

It could have been an interference call if McDavid pumped his legs hard I think to show he was being interfered.

Would have been a ballsy call by the ref tho.

Two straight games where McDavid looked pedestrian. He's also had like three dives so far.

There was one instant where he had the puck in his own zone and wound up I thought this is where we see him destroy the Leafs D, and then he dropped it off to his D when Matthews skated near him. It was weird. He just needed to slightly move to the side and he had the whole neutral zone to himself.

Pretty sure the guy between the benches even said “oh look out” when McDavid got the puck.

He’s going to have beef up a bit because he looked out muscled a fair bit.

Kadri might be my least favorite player in the league, but that was just two players battling for the puck. McDavid engaged in the battle just as much Kadri did. If McD doesn't lean in to Kadri and instead just skates, he's faster and would have got in front of him. Instead, he chose the body battle and Kadri won. That's just hockey man. If we're going to start calling that stuff penalties than I dunno anymore.

If I remember correctly the puck wasn’t close to them (or it was close, just not in sticks reach). And the way it happened it’s not a penalty, but if McDavid kept his feet moving it could have been a penalty against Kadri. He did do a solid swim move on him.

But it would have been one of those “omg how do you call that in OT” which means it shouldn’t be a penalty, but I could see a ref doing it. IF McDavid does a good job at selling it. It’s a lot of what ifs that didn’t happen.

But McDavid should have just went for the puck, but maybe he was tired. He did get muscled out a lot that game and maybe his tank was just low in his legs. Good on Kadri for having his motor running the whole time.

Kadri had the puck on his stick when the play in question happened.

I must have thought it was longer where they were engaged without the puck. That would have been a weak penalty if it was called.

That game got out of hand on Saturday. Good on Toronto for not backing down. Can’t believe Dorsett would turn down a fight with Martin, then fight Leo, then get mad at Martin when he chirped Dorsett.
