Please happen. I'd love them both but will accept 1.
Could u imagine replacing Hyman with Landy?

totally. more realistically, I imagine replacing Hyman with Grundstrom for free this fall.

    Lines right now:
    Marleau-Matthews-Nylander
    JvR-Bozak-Marner
    Hyman-Kadri-Brown
    Leo-Moore-Martin

    Gardiner-Zaits
    Hainsey-Rielly
    Marincin-Carrick

Missing: Fehr (AHL), Smith, Leivo, Kapanen, Rychel, Sosh, Marchenko, Dermott, Nielsen.

Obviously the rumour/ideas of moving JvR for a D makes sense to everyone dependant on price. But to get a top 4 so Hainsey drops down to Marinicin’s spot is what we all want to see.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Hyman/Marleau flip/flop although flanking Kadri I think would be an ideal spot for him (Hyman). Can even see Hyman/Leo flip-flopping roster spots. This team goes as far as the big 3 sophomores take them. Any of them regress, so does this team. Still need an upgrade on D.

I don't see how Hainsey makes this team any better than Hunwick did. Zaitsev I expect another level from this year in all area's.

Hainsey is a bit better moving the puck, but Hunwick's positioning when defending is better. Hunny would make some pretty "head-to-the-sky" passes out there sometimes. So maybe they just want D to move the puck up easily.

The goal may be to just get it to Gardiner or Rielly ASAP to clear the zone. I don't see him being paired with Zaitsev much at all

Thats what it seemed to be last yr. D would make the easy pass, or lob it out to get it to the forwards stick as quick as possible. Hainsey is an upgrade over Hunwick in that, but Hunwick is much better positionaly I think.

I keep seeing rumours the Leafs are getting closer to a deal for a Dman.. JVR/Bozak + Kapanen.. last one I saw was Holden - Bozak. They aren't coming from what I'd call reliable sources... so I'm sure someone called and Holden's name was mentioned in a larger conversation and this leaked as a result. I for one hope that Hainsey is more of a 5-6 option with Carrick and not a 3-4 with Gardiner.

I kept hearing JVR was gone the second Marleau signed but things have quieted down a bit. Holden is an intriguing idea though.

I've been saying for a while now that it's most likely the Leafs, if they make a deal for a Dman.. it will not be one of the oft-mentioned names. It'll be someone off the rumour mill radar. Holden fits that bill. Although I doubt they have the depth to move out a dman after having lost Klein.

Is it still going to be JVR going away?

I've mentioned during the Marleau signing that I wouldn't be surprised to see Bozak shopped instead of JVR.

But if anything I think he ends up in Pittsburgh instead.

It's not too surprising that some of these invitees excel at developmental camps. This may be their one and only shot to impress and typically these camps allow smaller players a bit more space.
