So in regards to the Boedker signing, I still think he didn't get used well until he was on the Couture Marleau line.

I'm rather curious to see if they keep one of or both Thornton and Marleau. Personally, I don't think they've got the gas to get them to the cup, but that's also a ton of talent wasted if you just let them go. I almost wish they would do like a sign and trade here to get at least something.

Wilson has been signing some Euro kids so we'll see what the plan is. My money is that they let them go and go rebuild, but the problem is that Burns, Pavelski, Vlasic, Couture as the new core isn't that young either. I'm not sure where they go from here other than a big retooling.

Yeah and the other news was he hurt himself.

Anyway, I'm not surprised by the start this year. I was telling everyone I knew around here that they would start slow. They're is so much pressure on them to excel and score 8-0 every night, but they won't. I like that deBoer finally put Burns and Karlsson on different PP units or I should say, just alternates the two of them between the units. It was a little more successful as Burns wants to just launch crazy hard shots and Karlsson is far more finesse. That PP needs to continue to improve, but the Kane signing is looking good so far.. I honestly think Thornton shouldn't be on the top line anymore. I know when he's healthy that's what they try to do and I think he's just not there. I'd rather see him on the 3rd line and let him get PP minutes. I think when he comes back that would be wise since his knees can't handle top line minutes anymore. Hopefully, Deboer figures that out and does that when he's healthy.

I am really surprised the Sharks didn't go out and get some goalie help at the deadline. Jones has been below average all season. Or maybe it's having Burns, Karlsson and an aging Vlasic back there.

Man. You would have thought, but crazily enough Jones showed up for the playoffs. I'm still surprised they didn't move a goalie this off-season. Maybe they tried but the contracts were in the way.

Losing Pavelski hurts and playing against him will suck.

The off-season is definitely not done as it will be done when Thornton signs. That's the marker and I believe the reason they haven't signed him is to maximize their flexibility right now until they make some final moves. DW is notorious for making moves in August and early September so I'm just waiting to see what situation he takes advantage of...maybe stone and Shattenkirk, but doesn't seem likely as they have burns and Karlsson on the right.

    Any thoughts out there?

Shattenkirk probably continues to want to play on the east coast and close to NYC

I definitely forgot that was part of his reason for signing with NY. I honestly don't think it'll happen as they already have so many right handed guys in d.

I just think something else is gonna happen.

Thornton and Marleau are taking their time and will probably sign for about 2mln each just before the start of the season

Thornton should get more than Marleau, but I could see them taking identical one year deals.
