Yes!! I love when EF posts things that validate the way I've been feeling about the NHL.
Just this morning I was mentioning in a goalie-choice thread that I feel like scoring is up with the new youth movement having kids that possess a different type of skill/speed/shot than what goalies are used to.
EF's discussion with Nash & Holtby and others suggests this is, indeed, a new thing:
Nash is one of many NHLers — whether players, coaches or executives — who believe an increased emphasis on skills development at the youth level is a major reason we’ve seen a scoring jump during the first month of the 2016-17 season. All these great young players embraced this learning process. Their talent is incredible.
