Is it official? Did they get Streit? If so, kudos. Sooo...jealous.

They have the negotiating rights but he isn't signed yet. I would imagine it happens fairly soon though like Gonchars quick deal with Dallas.

Assuming Bryz is out the door, who is the other goalie besides Mason?

Hearing Flyers have had discussions with the Buffalo Sabres regarding Ryan Miller. Flyers are def. up to something with Buyout of Bryz.

Would Buffalo really trade Miller to the Flyers? Seems to close for comfort, imo.

The unfortunate thing for Buffalo is that if they do want to deal Miller, there aren't many Western Conference teams in need of a goalie. Definitely Phoenix, Calgary, and Edmonton. That's about it. I guess you can maybe include a few other teams if they make some moves...St. Louis (if they move Halak or Elliott), Columbus (if Bobrovsky goes to the KHL), and Colorado (they haven't re-signed Varlamov and I think Roy would like a better goalie).

To me, there seems to be more options in the East...Islanders, Philly, New Jersey, Washington, Tampa, and Florida could all use a goalie.

Yeah I read the same thing from broadstreethockey or something like that. I've done a bit of research on the guy and I would say the general consensus is that was an awful pick. Combined with the fact that they could've had a couple others at #11 that might have been better fits, I'm pretty disappointed in the Flyers draft. I like their second pick, and their first pick may work out, but I would say they need some new scouts....and I would probably say a new GM as well. Love Homer, but he's hurt the organization on a few critical forks in the road.

yeah i feel the same way. Hagg in the 2nd seems to be the best of the bunch so far (overall talent). but like you said, Morin could work out. big dude, needs some overall work, but so it goes with Dmen in the NHL. dont like the 3rd pick at all...

Morin was a great pick. Late riser will do wonders for the Flyers in the future. His value will skyrocket

i am with you guys. Not very excited with the results. I prefer they went Poluck at 11, was hoping for RR. Morin may work out but feel they could have traded back 5 or so spots and gotten him.

Like the 2nd pick but the 3rd is embarrassing. Just goes to show you that we pack up after the second round and go home, pass $20 to the security guard on the way out and tell him to finish up and have fun with it.

This will always be remembered as the summer we didnt get Bernier or Schnieder when we could have had either.

They just need to take their time with him. Won't be ready for at least 2 years IMO

I'm just not very keen on Ryan Miller - I think his best years are past him and he is on the decline. Were I the Flyers GM, I would avoid making a move for him. Though it's a possibility that he may end up in Philly, it's not one I'd like to see come to fruition.
